Worship Note: Lent
The season of Lent begins this month with Ash Wednesday on February 14.  Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, and giving, and it's intended to help us prepare for the celebration of Jesus' resurrection on Easter Sunday.
 
You'll notice that the pastors will wear purple stoles during Lent, and the pulpit cloth will be purple as well.
 
Some people give up something during Lent (or take on a new habit). The idea is to pay attention to those things that get in the way of our faith.  What are those things in your life?

Join us as we seek to share God's love with our neighbors, our community, and each other this month.

First Sunday of the month lunches
Join FPC young adults this Sunday, February 4 for lunch together after 11 a.m. worship.  We'll meet in the drive and walk to a nearby restaurant.

Discuss current events and look to Scripture for guidance in making daily decisions.

Covenant Groups
We've launched a new Covenant group this month!  If you'd like to be part of one of these small groups of 8-12 members that meet once or twice a month or would like more information, please fill out this Google form.  Katelyn will be in touch when enough people have signed up to start a new group.

Room In the Inn 
On Monday and Tuesday nights from December through March, FPC hosts 12 neighbors at the church.  We provide dinner, a place to stay, breakfast and lunch for each guest. 

Thanks to everyone who has signed up to help with Room in the Inn so far. As you know, we can't do it without an army of willing volunteers. We are short on folks who can spend the night. If one of the Monday or Tuesday nights work for you, please grab a friend and consider signing up.
 
 


Moving Ministry
Join the team on Saturday, February 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to help move families and individuals out of transition or homelessness into a place to call home.  We will meet at Crisis Assistance Warehouse on 333 Dalton Road.  We would love to have four or more volunteers, so grab a friend and meet us for a great morning. 
 
Big muscles aren't a requirement.  Carrying a lamp shade is just as important as a sofa! Sign up here.
