Get to Know Your New Committee Members:
We began introducing our Zone 3 Committee Members in January. These members are already hard at work in our zone! Take a minute to get to know them:

Andrew Ellis,  of Warrenton, Virginia, grew up in an equestrian family with his brother riding as a steeplechase jockey, his mother as an amateur owner and his sister showing ponies. He rode and helped out at Max Bonham's barn when he was young. As a committee member, he wants to represent the needs of Zone 3 members. Outside the sport he enjoys travel, scuba diving, fly fishing, golf and spending time with his wife and children. If he could have dinner with any equestrian, he would choose his wife because he respects her horsemanship and riding knowledge as much as anyone's.

Alan Lohman,  of Poolesville, Maryland, runs a 30-horse hunter/jumper farm, is an "R" judge and an "R" course designer. He has served on various committees including being past president and current board member of the Maryland Horse Shows Association. He started showing locally as a child and has been involved in the industry ever since. As a committee member, he wants to improve the experiences of exhibitors, trainers, owners and parents at Zone 3 shows. Outside the sport, he enjoys sports and attending football and baseball games. He also said he has the best wife in the entire world. If he could have dinner with any equestrian, he would choose Chris Wynne because he enjoys giving him a hard time about his favorite football team.

Streett Moore,  of Owings Mills, Maryland, is the director of riding at McDonogh School, a USEF "R" judge, course designer, show manager, USHJA Certified Trainer and has been involved with multiple committees and organizations, including the Maryland Horse Show Association. As a committee member he wants to improve education and increase zone-level membership. Outside the sport he enjoys landscape design, antique cars and tractors, spending time outside, especially with his 8-year-old son, and he loves going to Disney World with family and friends. If he could have dinner with any equestrian, he would choose Rodney Jenkins, his idol when he was a junior rider.

Mike Rosser,  of Southern Pines, North Carolina, has been involved in the sport since the mid-1970s. He runs a hunter jumper/business and is a judge. His goal as a committee member is to promote the future of the sport and try to make it accessible for everyone. In his spare time, he enjoys fox hunting, cooking and anything outside.

Catherine Schlaeppi , of High Point, North Carolina, has been involved with horses most of her life riding ponies, showing hunters, fox hunting and teaching for more than 49 years. She is the head IHSA Hunt Seat coach at High Point University and also coaches Fox Run Equestrian middle and high school Interscholastic Equestrian Association teams. She has been involved in several committees and organizations, including the North Carolina Hunter Jumper Association. She is also a NCHJA "C" rated judge and steward. Her goal as a Zone 3 Committee Member is to help educate the membership about what is happening in the zone and be a voice for members in Zone 3. Outside of the sport she enjoys photography, skiing, cooking and any activities involving here family. If she could have dinner with any equestrian, she would choose the late Bryan Jones because she misses his humor at shows and his advice.
