LT PRIDE

We are pleased to sponsor the finalists for the 2017 Excellence Design Challenge! The finalists are: Mr. Doug Price and Mr. Robert Cline from Oaklandon Elementary School, Ms. Mandy Perdue from Mary Castle Elementary School, Mr. Walter Feshold from Fall Creek Valley Middle School, and Mr. Jeff Mann from Belzer Middle School.

The Design Challenge seeks to financially reward a teacher (or teachers) for an innovative idea that, if implemented, meaningfully impacts the organization through efficiency, effectiveness, and/or measurable improvements. These individuals have been selected from a group of sixty to proceed to the Research and Development phase. These finalists will now complete a comprehensive Research and Development phase outside of the contract day, providing a progress report to the administrative team mid-way through this phase. Congratulations and Good Luck to all of them!
"Light Their Future" Lights Up the Night!

The 17th annual "Light Their Future" Celebration was a night to remember! We are very proud of the LT community and all the support and generosity we received. We had a record-breaking crowd of  630 people  who came together to celebrate the students of Lawrence Township. Everyone there shined a light on our  "15,936 Rays of Light" and together we raised approximately  $95K to support the students of Lawrence Township!

MATCHES MADE
IN MSDLT
We love sharing about our alumni, so we thought we'd share about those who fell in love right here in MSDLT!

Ronald and Linda Preston, Lawrence Central
Ron and Linda met their senior year at LC.
Their first date was at a home basketball game on De cember 3, 1966.  They both can remember many fond  memories of their time at LC. Some of their favorites are a great camaraderie with classmates, supporting all of the sports teams, working on a homecoming float, and participating in several clubs. They both  both had  great teachers along the way as well!  Linda was only at LC for a year and a half, while  Ron goes back to first grade where he attended Harrison Hill Elementary. Following their high school years, Ron and Linda got married on November 27, 1970. Linda graduated from Ball State University and holds a certification from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ron holds a degre e from Purdue University. they currently live in Richmond, Virginia, and have two sons who are married and have blessed them with five grandkids. They are looking forward to the Class of 1967 50th Reunion and hope to see all their former classmates. Thanks for sharing your Match Made in MSDLT, Ron and Linda!

Mark and Kathy Martin Harrison, MSDLT
Mark and Kathy met in 5th grade, in room number 5, in Mr. Adkins' class at Crestview Elementary. They instantly became friends because they knew a lot about cars since both of their families were in the automotive world and car business. After moving on to sixth grade, where they shared the same teacher, Mrs. Brimberry, they dated for two weeks and Mark brought his dad's special ring from World War II for Kathy to wear. They shared the same classes and homeroom together in 7th grade and stayed very close friends beyond that.  Some of their favorite memories are having tons of friends that ran in the same crowds,  and homecoming being a big deal. Mark asked Kathy to their senior homecoming and that date turned into forever! Upon graduation in 1974, they attended separate colleges and continued to date until they graduated in May of 1978. Shortly after, they got married in August of the same year. Together they have a lucky number that they discovered right here in MSDLT. The number 5. It's lucky to them because they met in 5th grade in room number 5, dated for 5 years and married on August 5th. This year they will be celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary on August 5, 2017. Thanks for sharing your Match Made in MSDLT, Kathy and Mark!

Ed and Lindsey Shaurette, Lawrence Central
Ed and Lindsey met in the summer of 1997. Ed was entering his sophomore year and Lindsey was entering her freshman year. They were both members of Spirit of Central and were around each other all summer. The following year, they connected over the loss of Ed's dog, because dogs are a passion for both of them. Ever since then, they have been together and can remember having their first date at an Indianapolis 500 party.
Some of their favorite memories from Lawrence Central are winning two state championships together, traveling to California with the band, and playing on stage at Deer Creek for Ed's graduation. They currently live in Lawrence and have a Kindergartner at Forest Glen and a pre-schooler at ELC Winding Ridge. This July will be their 13th wedding anniversary.  Thanks for sharing your Match Made in MSDLT, Ed and Lindsey!

It is an honor to share all the great things our alumni do. Next month we will be highlighting our 2017 Distinguished Alumni. Please be sure to pass along any news you have to the Foundation. Click here to send an email.
