Know Your Candidates!
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee will be hosting two forums:
Municipal Candidate Forum
 on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. All municipal candidates (Mayoral and City Council Place 5 and 6) have been invited to join this moderated forum.
Collin College Board of Trustees and Frisco ISD Board of Trustees Candidate Forum on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. All Board of Trustee candidates (Collin College and Frisco ISD) have been invited to join this moderated forum. The Collin College Bond proposal will also be discussed. 
Both forums will be held at Grace Church at 8440 Grace Street in Frisco Square.
Registration for the forums is not required.
The 2017 General Election will take place on May 6, 2017. Early voting begins April 24, 2017.

Invest Local
If you are an entrepreneur or would like to invest locally, join us at the next "Invest Local" event to be held at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.  If you are an entrepreneur, you will learn more about entrepreneur activities through the Frisco Chamber.  If you are an investor, you will meet local entrepreneurs.  Both entrepreneurs and investors will learn how the Frisco Chamber can present you with opportunities to connect with others. Invest Local will meet on the 4th Wednesday each month.

In The News
Full Closure of Dallas North Tollway 
NTTA has coordinated this closure with the cities of Plano and Frisco. Delays are expected and drivers are urged to proceed with caution in the construction area. The closures will run from 11:00 PM on Friday, March 31 through 5 AM on Monday, April 3. Read more...
What Working at the CTE is Like
Mrs. Dianna Bacon, Frisco ISD graphic design teacher (and the teacher of our graphic design intern, Natalie) was recently featured in Frisco Enterprise. Mrs. Bacon was recognized by a former graphic design student, Andrea Shaver, as being the "best high school teacher," as part of Andrea's scholar's recognition program. As a result, Mrs. Bacon received an invitation to RIT.  Read more...

                                                           ADVOCACY
Tony Felker, President/CEO, traveled to Austin to meet with legislators at the Capitol during Collin County Days on March 28 and 29. These days provide the opportunity  to keep elected officials informed on what's happening in Frisco, as well as ensuring the legislators know the impact their actions have on the business community and North Texas . Tony, Mayor Maso, and other mayors from Plano, McKinney, and Allen, together with the McKinney Chamber, had the opportunity to meet with Speaker of the House Joe Strauss.

Join us every Friday at 8:00 AM in the Frisco Chamber of Commerce Event Room for the Frisco Entrepreneur Speaker Series. Hear from local entrepreneurs each week! We know you are busy! We won't keep you long, however you are more than welcome to stay and network! Registration is not required, but appreciated!

Leadership Frisco Class XX Project
Leadership Frisco is a nine-month community leadership program sponsored by the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. The purpose is to develop a pool of qualified, highly motivated individuals who are interested in expanding their leadership skills, deepening their sense of civic responsibility, and becoming more involved in the community as a whole.

Each year, members of Leadership Frisco select and complete a class project that benefits Frisco. This year's class project will benefit Frisco Fastpacs. More information...

Frisco 5-Star Corporate Challenge
The Frisco Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 2017 Frisco 5-Star Corporate Challenge on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Dr. Pink Field. The Frisco 5-Star Corporate Challenge will pit local businesses against each other in a friendly competition while promoting team-building, business-to-business networking, and corporate wellness. Team events include: Quarterback Drills, Field Day Relay, GOAL!, Deck Out Dash, Trike Bike Relay, Lip Sync Battle, Basketball Shoot Out, as well as, Drag, Haul, Heave & Pull.
 
Teams have already begun practicing for the 2017 event! Videos from last year's Lip Sync Battle can be found on the Frisco Chamber of Commerce YouTube channel. Information about the Frisco 5-Star Corporate Challenge can be found HERE.
 
A portion of the registration fees will benefit the Collin College Foundation and the Frisco Education Foundation. A food drive will benefit Frisco Family Services.


Tech Titans Nominations Now Open
The Tech Titans Awards Gala recognizes the elite in North Texas technology - individuals currently transforming the high-tech industry and giving companies that competitive edge, as well as companies leading the way. The Tech Titans Awards Gala showcases the innovators, adopters and executors impacting the technology industry for the greater good.See a  list of categories or  start the nomination process. Texas Big Star Half Marathon and 5K 
The North Texas Community Giving Foundation, in partnership with The Tug McGraw Foundation, is excited to present the second annual Texas Big Star Half Marathon and 5K on Saturday, April 15, 2017. What started last year as the first endurance running event for the City of Frisco continues this year with an all-new course and Start/Finish. Of course, our wildly popular post-race Finisher Fest and beautiful medals and runner recognition awards return.  More info...
