GROWING IN GRACE
Living Stations of the Cross
Living Stations of the Cross 2017
Fifth grade St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School students presented a live performance of the Stations of the Cross to Kindergarten-12th graders at St. Anne Catholic Church on March 15th and 16th. They reviewed and reflected on the Passion & Death of Jesus and anticipated the celebration of His Resurrection. The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. Throughout Lent, students in grades 6-12 have visited St. Anne Church each Friday to pray the Stations of the Cross as a group.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Coding & Robotics Course Comes to St. Anne-Pacelli
Coding & Robotics
Elementary school students at St. Anne-Pacelli are combining the excitement of sports with the rigors of science and technology in new weekly  coding and robotics classes. Throughout the 4th quarter of the 2016-2017 school year, 2nd through 5th graders will learn how to write computer programs that control how Sphero, a robot ball, rolls and appears. The lessons teach math, physics and computer science concepts using hands-on, engaging activities. Mrs. Elizabeth Parker, St. Anne-Pacelli Lower School Science Teacher, will be using robots and SPRK lessons donated to St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School by a St. Anne Church parishioner.

To celebrate the launch of the new class, St. Anne-Pacelli students witnessed an up-close, exciting demonstration in robotics by teachers and students from THINC College & Career Academy. Representatives from the charter school for high school students in Troup County, Ga., brought a robot they designed, built and programmed to St. Anne-Pacelli on March 8th.

Best-Mannered Teacher
Best-Mannered Teacher
St. Anne-Pacelli 6th grader Charlotte Parker wrote an essay entitled "A Teacher Who Inspires Me" to nominate Middle School Religion Teacher Mrs. Mary Denise Espiritu for this year's National League of Junior Cotillions Greater Columbus Chapter's Best-Mannered Teacher contest. Mrs. Espiritu was one of seven teachers presented the special award during the organization's Grand Spring Ball earlier this month. It was so touching to know that Charlotte chose to acknowledge me in such a special way," said Mrs. Espiritu.

"The Vikings played well with an 11th place finish out of 24 teams from across the state," said Coach Greg Jordan.  The JV Golf Team is celebrating a March 28th victory over Richards and Arnold Middle Schools. Eighth graders Ian Eikelberry and Gabriel Rangel both posted great scores, with Gabriel shooting a 48 and Ian posting a 44 which was the low round of the match for the medalist position.
