Freshmen Field Trip to the CANDLES Holocaust Museum and St. Mary of the Woods College
The English Department will be taking the entire freshmen class to the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute to listen to Holocaust Survivor Eva Mozes Kor (one of Dr. Mengele's twins who survived his infamous experiments) tell her story of survival and forgiveness. All freshmen read a memoir on the Holocaust during their second trimester of English, and we will believe this experience will be invaluable. We will also be spending additional time at St. Mary of the Woods College to learn more about St. Mother Theodore.
All students need to arrive at Guerin Catholic High School no later than 7:15 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017. Students need to bring their own lunch with them. We will return at approximately 4 pm later that day. Students will need to be in regular school uniform. (It is not a spirit wear day)
Every freshmen must have a signed permission slip by Tuesday, April 18th which can be found on Gateway.
If you would like to learn more about Eva Kor and her museum, here is the link to the CANDLES website where you can read her story of survival, education, and forgiveness. You can also read her twitter feed: @EvaMozesKor.
