Meet artist, photographer Tammy DiCenso for a reading of her children's picture book, Do You Want to Take a Selfie?. The recently published children's book is filled with her photos taken the summer and fall of 2016.  The photography of Tammy Dicenso will be on display in the library's gallery during the month of April.

The Duke's Men of Yale

The Friends of the Woodbury Senior/Community Center are proud to present The Duke's Men of Yale! This group offers a refreshing take on a capella music. Since 1952, audiences worldwide have been raving about The Duke's Men of Yale for their brilliant musicianship and keep ability to balance a down-to-earth sense of humor with a strong sense of professionalism. 

Seating is limited. Free will donations gratefully accepted. 
Funded through a grant from the Woodbury-Bethlehem Community Music Foundation, Inc. through the Thomaston Savings Bank, the Leroy Anderson Foundation, the Women's Club of Woodbury, and music lover patrons.

The WPL has teamed up with the United States Postal ServiceĀ® to offer you a convenient and time saving opportunity.  You can apply for (or renew) a passport at the Woodbury Public Library/USPSĀ® Passport Fair.  This event is open to all U.S. citizens. Don't have your photo?  No worries! Have a photo taken at the fair, photo services will be available for $15.  No registrations will be taken for this event.
Little Free Libraries

Do you know about the little free libraries that have been established around the world?  There are about 50,000 of them and counting. They're in front of yards, at libraries, businesses, nature trails, you name it.This is a "take-a-book, give-a-book" process, and it's spreading literacy throughout the land in a free and approachable way.
 
Find out how you can be a part of bringing the little libraries to Woodbury. Join us on either date.

Victorian Fashions with Susan Jerome

Have you been avidly watching "Victoria" on PBS and are smitten by the fashions of the time? Join Susan J. Jerome as she presents a look back at what was fashionable - real or otherwise - and highlights some of the influential designers during this era.                               
Susan J. Jerome is the Collections Manager at the University of Rhode Island Historic Textile and Costume Collection. Ms. Jerome also works as a textile and quilt conservator, and a consultant to museums and historical societies. An avid textilian, she is happiest when writing, talking and doing all things textile.

Eastern Coyotes in Connecticut

The "Eastern Coyotes in Connecticut" presentation focuses on the history of coyotes in Connecticut, an overview of coyote habitat, diet, behavior, and reproduction.  It also provides practical recommendations for optimum coexistence with our coyote population.  Coyote artifacts are shared with the audience.  The presentation runs 60-90 minutes, depending on the level of audience engagement.  The presentation is intended for ages 12 and older.
