Study Abroad Program

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS COMING UP!
THIS FRIDAY, MARCH 31, 2017


The  California-Mexico Studies Center (CMSC) is currently accepting applications for our  Summer 2017 California-Mexico Dreamers Study Abroad Program.  The CMD's Summer 2017 program will offer Dreamers the unique opportunity to participate in a travel-study program from August 1 st to August 21 st, 2017, and a 10-day course at the prestigious Mexican graduate school  Colegio de la Frontera Norte (COLEF) in Tijuana, Baja California. 

Application Deadline & Requirements:   To be considered for acceptance into our program, applicants must complete a two-step application process which requires the following:
  • Step 1: Complete the online application by March 31st, 2017.
  • Step 2: Submit a Personal Statement of Purpose essay and 2 letters of recommendation by April 14, 2017.
Please take into consideration that the Advance Parole application approval process time can vary from 1 to 4 months, therefore, we will give preference to those applicants who are quick to submit their completed online application, personal statement of purpose and letters of recommendation. We will consider everyone who applies within the application period from March 16 to March 31st, but we will review applications and select applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Thus, we highly encourage you to apply and submit your supporting documentation as soon as possible. Please do not wait until the last minute.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO - El profesor Armando Vázquez-Ramos habló hoy con Carmen Aristegui  sobre el programa California-Mexico  Dreamers Study Abroad , el cual es un programa de estudios en el extranjero para ' Dreamers ' en Estados Unidos, por medio del cual estudiantes protegidos por  DACA  tienen la oportunidad de viajar y estudiar en Mexico temporalmente y luego regresar a Estados Unidos con autorización del gobierno Americano. 

Actualmente el  California-Mexico Studies Center  (CMSC) está aceptando solicitudes para participar en el programa de este verano  California-Mexico Dreamers Study Abroad Program Summer2017 . Recuerda, la fecha límite para aplicar es este VIERNES MARZO 31, 2017.

Además, el profesor Armando habló sobre un proyecto de Empadronamiento de Dreamers y sus Familias para obtener la credencial del INE que el CMSC lanzó el año pasado.

El profesor Armando Vazquez-Ramos convoca a los medios para la Rueda de Prensa que celebrará con activistas y académicos pro-inmigrantes, el Miercoles 29 de Marzo, 2017 a las 10:00 am en el HOTEL GILLOW (Isabel La Católica #17, esquina con Cinco de Mayo, Mexico, DF) durante su gira en Mexico para abogar por los Dreamers y sus familias sobre su condición vulnerable ante el creciente racismo anti-inmigrante en Estados Unidos, su acceso a la educación en ambos países y sus derechos al voto en las elecciones del 2018.
 
Como presidente del Centro de Estudios California-Mexico (CMSC), el profesor ha tenido éxito en darles la oportunidad de regresar a Mexico a más de 110 Dreamers por medio de 5 grupos de universitarios que ha organizado en los últimos 3 años, y dirige una campaña de empadronamiento de Dreamers y sus familias para habilitarlos a sufragar en los comicios del 2018.

Prof. Armando Vazquez-Ramos invites the media for a Press Conference with pro-immigrant activists and academics on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 10:00 am at HOTEL GILLOW, during his tour in Mexico to advocate for Dreamers and their families regarding their current vulnerable status under the growing anti-immigrant racism in the United States, their access to higher education in both countries and their Mexican voting rights in the 2018 elections.

As president and CEO of the California-Mexico Studies Center (CMSC), Prof. Armando Vazquez-Ramos has been successful in taking over 110 Dreamers to study in Mexico as part of the CMSC's California-Mexico Dreamers Study Abroad Programs that he has organized in the past 3 years.  Also, Prof. Vazquez-Ramos will be discussing a new campaign to help Dreamers of Mexican origin and their families to obtain their INE Voting ID Card to enable them to vote in the upcoming 2018 presidential elections in Mexico.
