Mr. Beebe, Applied Academics, and Mr. Assise, Mathematics, attended the Track Football Consortium this past weekend  at Benedictine University. Coach Assise presented the session, Overlooked Connections between Football and Track & Field. The presentation was well received by the many coaches who were in attendance. Friday night the two teachers were asked to take a picture with keynote speaker and nine-time Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis. Carl Lewis is now the sprint and relay coach at the University of Houston, who happened to win the NCAA championship in the 2017 4x100 relay, so when he heard that H-F had won the 2017 state championship in the same relay, he requested to speak with the coaches. Mr. Beebe said that it was an honor to share time with perhaps the greatest male track and field athlete of all time!
