Saturday Spectacular: Farmers Market and More
Not only is the final Winter Farmers Market of the season taking place this Saturday (9 am to 11 am, 30 N. Lansdowne Avenue), there's a full day of arts-related activities to accompany the debut of the Philadelphia Museum of Art's InsideOut exhibit in Lansdowne (more on that later). So when you head out in the morning, be sure you're prepared for a long day out on the town. Remember, this is the last market until the "real" season starts on Memorial Day weekend, so stop by and see these vendors:

  • Freeland Market: Meats and more
  • Taste Of Puebla: Tamales, guacamole, pico de gallo, salsa fresca and corn chips
  • Kia's Cakes: Fresh baked goodies including cupcakes, cakes by the slice (Hummingbird cake is back!) and cookies - including white chocolate macadamia and vegan chocolate chip. Plus a new "Degas-Ta-Have-It" specialty cupcake in celebration of Inside Out!
  • FBG Foods: Salsa - regular, hot, southwest, and strawberry mango
  • Neil's Sharpening Service: It's time to get the garden tools ready!
  • Bonnie's Wondergardens: Pansies, spring veggie plants, herb plants (including hard-to-get bay leaf plants) and flowers
  • Amazing Acres Goat Dairy: Fresh goat cheese for your sampling (and purchasing) pleasure! Chèvres, including chipotle, sea smoke, baby bloomer (bucheron style) and banon (aged and wrapped in brandy-soaked grape leaves).

Last Call: Arts & Crafts Show Applications Due Tomorrow
This spring tradition takes place Saturday, May 7 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the municipal lot at 30 N. Lansdowne Avenue. If you are interested in exhibiting, applications and additional information are available online; the deadline is tomorrow - Friday, April 15.

Lansdowne Borough Welcomes Philadelphia Museum of Art's "Inside Out" Installation
Lansdowne has been chosen for the Philadelphia Museum of Art's (PMA) second annual "Inside Out" program. In 2015, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation launched "Inside Out," a series of pop-up art installations in select communities throughout the Delaware Valley. This year, Lansdowne will host 12 works of art, which have been faithfully reproduced from the PMA's expansive collection and will be displayed in various outdoor locations around the Borough. The exhibition will run through July 15th. There are several events and activities which will be held throughout the Borough during the exhibition's opening day on Saturday, April 16th, including a ribbon-cutting at Borough Hall at 9:00 am. PMA is also providing an added bonus for Lansdowne residents (19050 zip code): individuals and families can visit the PMA for free on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22. For details, please visit www.lansdowneborough.com/io.
