Call for Artists
We are now accepting artist/maker applications for the Lansdowne Arts on the Avenue Festival which will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from noon to 6 pm on Lansdowne Avenue. This event grew out of (and will now replace) the Lansdowne Arts Festival, a perennial favorite arts and music event in Lansdowne. This new and exciting outdoor arts festival is expected to draw more than 2,500 people to our historic downtown for an all-day festival of arts, crafts, music, food trucks, and more.

We are expanding not only the location of the festival, but also the look. We hope to feature some new, exciting, unique artists. The Call For Artists has just gone out and applications are due May 15th. Please share and help us really make this festival something fantastic!

This Saturday: Keep Lansdowne Beautiful Day
There is still time to join the LEDC as we participate in this annual downtown cleanup day. Volunteers are needed for trash removal, street sweeping, park cleanups, flower planting, and more. We are looking to assemble a team of at least 20 volunteers to help. Sign up online to volunteer, or just meet at the Highland Avenue parking lot by 8:00 am.

Memorial Day 5K: Want a T-Shirt?
Then NOW is the time to register, because the early registration deadline is next Monday, May 2. Those signing up by the deadline will not only enjoy discounted registration fees, but will also be guaranteed an official race day t-shirt! Groups of 20 or more who wish to register by May 2 are eligible for special team-colored shirts. See complete details and sign up today!

Showcase of Lansdowne Performing Artists
This Sunday, join neighbors and friends at this benefit concert for the Lansdowne Theater from 3 to 5 pm. Local musicians Joe Todaro and Mark Linkins, Shelley Beard, Matthew Lavanish, Kim Robson and Russell Ferrara, and Minas (Patricia King Haddad and Orlando Haddad) perform in the lobby of the historic theater. Tickets are $35 per person and available at the theater's website. To purchase tickets with cash or check, please call the theater office at 610-622-1234.

Next Weekend: Arts & Crafts Show, Yard Sales
More than 50 vendors will be on hand for the 2016 Lansdowne Arts & Crafts Show, which takes place next Saturday, May 7 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the municipal lot at 30 N. Lansdowne Avenue. Stop by to browse a selection of jewelry, woodcraft, ceramics, body products, toys, quilts, stationery, knitted items, and more.

Also on May 7, the Town-Wide Yard Sale will be taking place just about everywhere you look in Lansdowne. Official maps listing all pre-registered sale locations will be available at Borough Hall, the Lansdowne Library, and online at the Lansdowne Borough website. Separately, The Garden Church (82 N. Lansdowne Avenue) will host its annual yard sale, featuring attic treasures, books, CDs, DVDs, plants, home-baked goodies, and more. For more information call 610-623-1645.

Town Forum
Mayor Anthony Campuzano and members of Borough Council invite all Lansdowne residents to the Twentieth Century Club for a discussion about public safety, code enforcement and economic development. The event takes place at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 11, in the Twentieth Century Club (84 S. Lansdowne Avenue).

InsideOut Exhibit through July 15
In case you've been wondering, the dozen replica masterpieces scattered throughout the borough are part of the Philadelphia Museum of Art's InsideOut exhibition at outdoor locations throughout Lansdowne. The exhibition continues through July 15. Don't forget, the museum is also providing an added bonus for Lansdowne residents (19050 zip code): individuals and families can visit the PMA for free on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22. For details, please visit www.lansdowneborough.com/io.
