Client Profile
Theresa is a Lowcountry Food Bank client who knows what hunger feels like:

"I moved to Charleston a few years ago from California for a better life. Things are a bit less expensive here, but it's still tough," says Theresa. "I work full time to support my two children, who are 9 and 15 years old. We receive food stamps, but even with that and my income, we usually run out of food about two weeks into the month. Before we found the food bank, many times I'd just go hungry."

"What is not okay is for my kids to be hungry. Finding the the food bank has really helped a lot. It's a relief that I don't have to worry as much as I did before instead I can concentrate on continuing to work so that someday I can actually give my family a better life."

Theresa's story is not uncommon here in coastal South Carolina. Please join the fight against hunger in our community!

CLIENT PROFILES

Starbucks helps feed children
Thanks to Starbucks for helping feed nearly 700 children throughout our community with their generous donation toward the BackPack Buddies program.

BackPack Buddies helps fight weekend hunger. Thousands of children at our partner schools who experience hunger are enrolled in the program and receive a backpack containing nutritious food to eat during the weekends each Friday during the school year.
Weekday Discount at Holiday Festival of Lights with Lowcountry Food Bank Donation
During the months of November and December, you will receive $5 off vehicle admission fee (up to 15 passengers) with a canned food donation! The James' Island County Park's Holiday Festival of Lights features over 700 bright, beautiful light displays of all shapes and sizes every night through January 1.

Over 14,000 pounds of canned food items were collected at last year's festival, which created 12,235 meals for children, families and seniors in our community during the holiday season. Your donation can provide even more meals for those who are food insecure this holiday season.

After driving through the park and appreciating over two million twinkling lights, visitors are encouraged to park and experience additional attractions at the park.
TD Charitable Foundation Helps in the Fight Against Hunger

The TD Charitable Foundation donated $45,000 to the LCFB, which will provide 270,000 meals to those experiencing food insecurity in coastal South Carolina. TD Bank also packed 500 BackPack Buddies bags during their visit this month.

A hearty thanks to TD Bank for helping fight hunger among children and seniors.
