Upcoming TEKS Resource System Leadership  Network Meeting

Join us Tuesday, March 21 for our next TEKS Resource System Leadership Network Meeting. We will meet from 1:00 - 3:30 to hear content updates and also experience the following:
  • Reflections from Dr. Darrell Becker and Dr. Barrett Pollard regarding the TEKS Resource System District Advisory Group Meeting held February 29 - March 1
  • A compare/contrast activity of the new ELA/R proposed TEKS compared to the current ELA/R TEKS
  • A math data and planning document for math teachers to use to study campus or teacher data from released STAAR tests
  • Updates and timelines for changing content in the TEKS Resource System due to TEKS revision and streamlining by TEA
Bring teacher leaders and/or campus administrators so they can help support you in sharing and/or delivering this information to the teachers on your campuses. Don't miss this opportunity to network and share ideas with other Region 12 TEKS Resource System Districts.
Projected Implementation for Revised and Streamlined TEKS
ELA/R TEKS Revision

The ELA/R TEKS Revision process is underway. See the following timeline for more information:
  • February - Approved First Reading of K-8 TEKS
  • March - Open public comment for the K-8 TEKS
  • April
    • Vote to adopt K-8 TEKS with probable implementation in 2019-2020
    • Vote to approve first reading of the high school TEKS
  • May
    • Publish final K-8 rule text and possibly a vertical alignment document
    • Open public comment on the new high school TEKS
  • June - Vote to adopt high school TEKS with probable implementation in 2020-2021
  • July - Publish final high school rule text and possibly a vertical alignment document.
Science Streamlining
  • February - approved first reading of the streamlined K-8, Biology, IPC, Chemistry, and Physics TEKS
  • March - open public comment period for streamlined TEKS
  • April - vote to adopt TEKS with probable implementation in 2017-2018
  • May - publish final rule text

TEKS Resource System 101              for New Teachers
The TEKS Resource System 101: Foundation Training for Educators is specifically designed for NEW TEKS Resource System users. Through investigation and discussion, participants will develop a solid understanding of each component and how to effectively navigate the online system. Using the system to meet the needs of all students will be addressed.
