Just Released: Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month Toolkit 
The GW Cancer Center is pleased to announce the latest social media toolkit release for  Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month in May 2017. Melanoma/Skin Cancer and Prevention Month is an annual campaign to raise awareness about melanoma and skin cancer, fundraise for research into their cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and cure as well as to support those affected by melanoma and skin cancer. Get involved by spreading the word and downloading the toolkit

Secure and sustainable funding is crucial for cancer control programs to flourish. Logic models can help convey the importance of your program to funders as well as why you expect it to be effective and successful. Join us for an upcoming webinar, hosted by GW Cancer Center through funding from the CDC, April 27 at 2pm EDT for current and future tribal grantees on how to prepare successful grant proposals using logic models. Communication Training for Comprehensive Cancer Control Professionals 102:
During National Cancer Control Month take advantage of the GW Cancer Center's online academy including the Communication Training for Comprehensive Cancer Control Professionals 102. The second part of a two-part series focuses on evidence-based cancer control communication and is designed for participants who desire more in-depth training about the process of planning, implementing and evaluating a communication campaign.

New Mexico Cancer Council Expands Patient Navigation Services

The New Mexico Cancer Council, through its Cancer Patient Navigation Network, is working to improve access to cancer care and survivorship resources by expanding patient navigation services. They have accomplished this, in part, by collaborating with the state's Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP), one of the Network's member organizations, and promoting GW Cancer Center's competency-based, online and no-cost   Oncology Patient Navigator Training: The Fundamentals Close to 80 learners from New Mexico have completed the training since January 2016, who work to screen, diagnose, refer and treat patients for breast and cervical cancers.
