In support of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Fullerton College will host numerous workshops and events throughout the month of April to help raise awareness among students about sexual assault against men and women. FC Night at Angel Stadium Celebrates FC Athletics on April 8
Fullerton College Night at Angel Stadium is just around the corner. The night starts with pre-game activities at 5 p.m. and will be a celebration of accomplishments by both coaches and student-athletes in the Fullerton College Athletics Program as well as raise much needed funds for the Fullerton College Food Bank. Summer Session Registration Begins May 2
Fullerton College Summer Session runs from June 12 through August 10. More than 475 sections of courses will be offered in a condensed-semester format allowing students an opportunity to get a head start before the Fall or accelerate completion of their associate degrees, bachelor degrees or career certificates. The Career and Life Planning Center is offering a series of workshops throughout the spring semester that give students the opportunity to explore career pathways and receive guidance on applying for jobs. Avoiding Sentence Fragments
This workshop on Tuesday, April 4 at noon in Room 808A, will teach students how to avoid or fix fragments and strategies for writing sophisticated and grammatically correct sentences. The workshop is appropriate for all students.
Dare to Be Great!
FC Incite and Umoja will be hosting this workshop on Tuesday, April 4 at 11 a.m. in Room 513. This energetic presentation will guide students on using their strengths to guide them to a career pathway. For more information,

Part 4: Admissions Decisions
This workshop provides students assistance with their admissions notices. Topics include acceptance and denial notices, admissions wait lists, determining which campus is the best fit, accepting an admission offer, enrollment confirmation deposits, appealing a denial notice, dropping and/or failing spring courses, transitioning to the university and more. How to Deepen Your Critical Thinking Skills and Improve Your Grades
Basic Skills is hosting various Student Success Workshops during the spring. These workshops are open to all Fullerton College students and are facilitated by graduate students in the Basic Skills Graduate Student Mentorship Program. This week's workshop is on Monday, April 3 at noon in Room 808A.

Deadline for Bookmark Contest
The deadline is approaching for the Design-A-Bookmark art contest! Entries are due by April 7. First prize is $200, second prize is $100, and third prize is $50. Bookmark designs should inspire literacy, success and/or learning. For more information, contact Librarian Val Macias at

Women's Track
The Hornets competed at San Diego Mesa College last Friday for the Arnie Robinson Invitational. On the field side, Marianne Gourd improved her shot put mark and finished in second place with a toss of 36' 2.25". In her other event, the hammer, Gourd finished in sixth place. Kailani Talag finished in fifth place 32' 3.25" with the shot put and placed seventh in the javelin a couple feet below her best mark. Daniela Juarez had a PR in the long jump with a 14' 10" jump only a few inched away from the 15-foot mark. Shyleen Ramos competed in her first 200-meter race of the season with a 29.35 time and finished sixth in the 400 meters. Jordyn Reese ran for sixth place in the 100-meters running the exact time she finished with last week. Reese's 200-meter time was 27.85 Teammates Liz Pean and Daniela Juarez were competing for the finish line as Pean crossed the line first with 13.86 and 13.89 respective times.

Men's Track
There were some very good individual performances from the Hornets in San Diego this weekend at the Arnie Robinson Invitational. Justin Walker awoke from a season-long slumber, winning the long jump in 24'4.5", just 3 inches from his personal best. Marquis Rogers, running in a 100m field of 30 runners, took third overall in 11.04 seconds. In the throwing events, Francisco Padilla took fourth overall and third among the community colleges out of a field of 20 throwers. Padilla finished fifth in the hammer throw, hurling 135'7". Josh Spillane was sixth overall and third in the community college division in the discus, throwing 135'4".
Up Next: The Hornets will compete at Cerritos College for a big community college invitational this Friday, April 7.
Softball
The Hornets had their seven-game win streak snapped on Saturday losing to Cerritos10-4 in a non-conference road game.
Up Next: Fullerton (17-14, 7-6) will host first place Cypress College (undefeated 28-0) for an OEC showdown on Wednesday, April 5 at 3 p.m. Come on out and support your Hornets!
Baseball
The Hornets fell on hard times this past week getting swept by Orange Empire Conference rival Santa Ana College three games to zero. Fullerton lost at home to the Dons on Tuesday 3-2, lost Thursday on the road, and fell in 10 innings at home Saturday 7-4.
Up Next: The Hornets (12-16, 2-10) will host first place Orange Coast College this Tuesday, April 4 at 2 p.m.
Men's Volleyball
FC picked up a nice Orange Empire Conference win last Friday knocking off Santiago 3-0 (26-24, 25-9, 25-22) at home.
Up Next: The Hornets (11-6, 3-2) will travel to Golden West College for a conference match on Wednesday, April 5 at 6 p.m

Women's Tennis
The Hornets and Tigers mixed it up at Fullerton's tennis facility on Thursday for an Orange Empire Conference showdown with Riverside winning it in a very tight contest 5-4. It was the final home match of the season for the Hornets and two sophomores, Alexandra Altamirano and Kalie Laubie, were honored by the coaching staff for their heart and dedication to the team.

The Fullerton College Art Gallery welcomes Abel Alejandre as the 2017 Artist in Residence. Alejandre frequently explores the public and private spheres of masculinity. He has come across no definitive answers, and seeks only to record, and to interpret, a lifetime of observation.
