South Florida SPCA Ranch Roundup
MARCH 2017
RESCUED!
Meet Lola, Lucille, Penny & JJ

Our first rescue of the year was our little Lola on January 5, a malnourished stray. As you can see she has completely transformed! CLICK HERE to visit her adoption page.

We rescued elderly mare Lucille on January 20, found emaciated and abandoned in NW Miami Dade's infamous C-9 Basin. She's getting a lot of extra TLC, like massages from volunteers as shown in the photo, and so much more. Her rehabilitation is slow but steady. CLICK HERE to learn more about Lucille.

Saved from the streets: We rescued Paso Fino stallion JJ (left) and mare Penny (right) earlier this month, which were running loose in the roads of Southwest Miami Dade. If they aren't claimed by an owner, JJ will be gelded after his quarantine period ends, and both will be made available for adoption.
ADOPTED!

Thank you to all who participated in our auctions at Bidding for Good. Most exciting was the O.F.C. 1982 Rare Vintage Bourbon donated by Buffalo Trace Distillery, which fetched $6,800! We are grateful to Buffalo Trace, and to Nancy Piacentino for procuring the bourbon for SFSPCA. Thanks also to event chair Connie Cioffi for her time, effort, and very generous donations of auction items, and to Roy Pressman for his work on the auctions.

We'll be announcing our next auction soon, stay tuned!
IN MEMORIAM   Topper, Our Gentle Giant

Topper, beloved ambassador for South Florida SPCA since 2011, crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully and comfortably on Friday, December 30, 2016 after a hard fought battle against founder. Our cherished memories of Topper are memorialized in a video tribute viewable on our website.  Click here or on his photo below.

"Here's to one horse we will never forget. We were all blessed with a memory, a treasure. Topper was loved by so many beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Some friends have to walk on all four legs just so they can carry around such a big heart. Go free, dear friend of mine."   - JULIE SHELTON
