April 2017

Santa Fe TTN is organized and led entirely by volunteers.

Please join us on April 17 - NOTE the date change - to celebrate the
Fifth Anniversary of TTN's Santa Fe Chapter with our National Executive Director, Susan Collins.

The National office is a unifying support system for our chapters. Among other resources, they gather groups of talented women who create things - like PR/Marketing tools - that any chapter can use.

Another program available to any chapter is the Women in Transition workshop, co-developed by our chapter founder, Jean Palmer. I have taken it twice and found it a great resource both times because no two are quite the same.

I was a member of TTN ' s founding chapter in New York City and, when it became clear (three years ago) that my husband and I were moving to Santa Fe, I was more than a little relieved to learn that my new home-town had a TTN chapter. While there are other chapters around the country, at that moment, Santa Fe was like a life preserver to this life-long New Yorker. And I was fortunate to find such a great group of welcoming women.

One of the reasons one might join TTN is to meet women with whom you have common interests. So, the topic of our March meeting was "Networking" and it seemed to be a hit!  We started with a fun icebreaker and then moved into four groups to consider discussion questions. The groups were: women who are still working, those who are retired, women fairly new to Santa Fe, and women who are actively working or involved in the arts.

Everyone seemed to appreciate their group and the "working women" were still engaged while the TTN Steering Committee prepared to close the room around them.

Whether you are a member or someone who would like to learn about what The Transition Network has to offer you, please join us on April 17 when Susan Collins will share stories about the impact our work has brought to others around the country.   ~ Rachel

MARCH MEANDERINGS!
On March 17th TTN members experienced Meow Wolf.  Overheard:  "Weird"  "Unique" "Flashback from the 60's when I had taken some drugs!"  "Made me dizzy"  "Hard to describe."  "Fun"

Thanks to all who attended the New Member Tea on March 18.  There were 13 current and new members in attendance and a great way to meet and connect with others in the chapter. A special thanks to those Membership and Steering Committee members who helped greet and welcome all.

TTN member Kay Henriksen was able to reschedule her
tour of the Museum of Indian Art & Culture. Kay, a docent at the museum, introduced our group to wonderful pottery, clothing, housing and education of various eras and tribes. We all came away with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art and contributions of Native Americans.
