With the help of generous Variety supporters like you, the 43rd Annual Variety Telethon raised $4,162,143 to improve the lives of underprivileged, at-risk and special needs children throughout Iowa! Highlights from the weekend include:
Variety awarded its very first gait trainer, a
KidWalk mobility system, to 4-year-old Vivian.
In addition to Vivian, there are seven new Variety Kids who received adaptive bikes at Telethon.
Savor Des Moines, an evening of culinary sampling featuring appetizers, cocktails and craft beer. This Young Variety fundraiser will be held at the State Historical Museum in Des Moines. Two volunteer shifts are available; 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with six volunteers are needed for each shift. May 18: Miller Lite Golf Invitational
Variety's annual golf event features more than 100 golfers, games, breakfast and lunch. Volunteers are needed to assist with check in, raffle tickets and shuttling volunteers to tees. Email

June 6-11: Principal Charity Classic
Variety is honored to be one of six "FORE our Kids" charities who benefit from the Principal Charity Classic. Volunteers are needed to marshall hole #7 where they will spot golf balls and quiet the crowds. Volunteers can sign up and pay their $85 through the Variety office. Volunteer registration includes a Principal Charity Classic golf shirt, jacket, hat/visor and free admission throughout the tournament. Email
