Jewelry That Makes You Think.
JANUARY 9, 2017

Happy New Year!

2016 was busy!  AJF published 132 articles, interviews, and reviews by 53 writers from 16 countries, which were read by more than 200,000 international website visitors!

Our latest book, On and Off: Jewelry in the Wider Cultural Field was published. The shelves of many university and art libraries now include copies of AJF publications. AJF books take a look at the history, personal voice, cultural relevance, and unique exhibition styles of jewelry. Our goal is to provide many avenues to understanding the field.

The Ambassador program continues to grow in scope and now connects 31 ambassadors to AJF's vibrant social media platforms to provide a truly international feed about all things jewelry.

As AJF enters our 20th year, we will continue  our commitment to publish articles, interviews, and reviews through a new open call process--democratizing the process of being published.

We also have a new project in the works to showcase a wide range of digital information about jewelry on AJF, including catalogs, essays, dissertations--a veritable treasure trove of jewelry knowledge.

Thank you to everyone who has supported AJF in 2016--you're the ones who made it all happen! We look forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary with you in 2017.

2017: IMPORTANT DATES IN THE NEW YEAR

2017 -- AJF's 20th Anniversary
This year marks the 20th anniversary of AJF--can you believe this tiny organization has been advocating for the field of contemporary jewelry since 1997?!

2017 -- PDF LIBRARY
AJF is seeking funding to expand the website to include an exciting new feature: a fully researchable pdf library. This eLibrary would allow for an amazing variety of catalogs, essays, dissertations, book excerpts, etc to be accessible online. This important archive of jewelry scholarship allows curators, scholars, universities, and anyone else interested in learning about jewelry to access information about the field and dovetails perfectly with AJF's mission to advocate for contemporary jewelry. To contribute to the fund, please contact Rebekah Frank directly.
