Save the Date: General Membership Meeting- April 6th!
We will be holding our first General Membership Meeting on April 6 at 4:30 at Kent-Meridian High School in the East Wing Gym. We will be sharing the following information:
Bargaining priorities - survey results
District budgeting trends
Changes being made to the WEA health insurance plans - this is important for everyone who is currently a Premera subscriber!
We realize that it is difficult for some people - especially athletic coaches to attend afternoon meetings. We will be sharing information with all building reps, and we will be communicating through Friday Facts (soon to be "What's Up Wednesday?") every week to keep everyone updated on this information.
Bargaining Update
The bargaining team met with the district on March 3 simply to schedule dates and to discuss how we will work together this year as a joint bargaining team. The teams then met this week on Tuesday and Friday to exchange proposals. There are a number of issues that will be held by both parties until it is clear what will happen in Olympia. Any detailed bargaining updates will not be sent to school email accounts, so if you are not sure if we have a good home email address for you, please send that information to
Regina Redmond.

Friday Facts will Become "What's Up Wednesday" In the Next Few Weeks
We will be moving the KEA weekly update to a Wednesday delivery date starting in April. Our hope is that this will be a better time for KEA members to read the update.
Occasionally we will need to send this to home email addresses if there is political content. Since we are in the legislative session, that is often an issue. For this issue, please check on your own personal devices, and on your own time, the
WEA website for state legislative updates.
