You are invited to attend the Buckeye Hills Semi-Annual General Policy Council Meeting. We are excited to unveil our new Buckeye Hills meeting and conference center. We also have another very exciting annoucement at this year's event as we unveil our new name and new look! Please join us April 7 at the Buckeye Hills Conference Center, located at 1400 Pike Street in Marietta -- NOT at The Knights of Columbus Center. Lunch will be serve following the business meeting.
Scott Hamilton, Appalachian Regional Commission Executive Director, will be the keynote speaker. He will provide updates on ARC’s strategic plan and on the investments ARC has made to diversify the economy in the Region’s coal-impacted communities through the Power (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization) Initiative.
Scott T. Hamilton became the Executive Director of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) in September 2014. In this role, he directs a 50-member staff in implementing the Commission's policies and oversees a wide range of programs in areas including education and workforce training, highway construction, water and sewer system construction, leadership development, small business start-ups and expansions, energy, and health. He administers the distribution of hundreds of grants annually for local development and leads major regional initiatives in entrepreneurship, energy, telecommunications, export trade, and civic leadership. In addition, he has programmatic oversight of the 3,090-mile Appalachian Development Highway System.
