Dear Friends,

Bud break is here and I took this late-winter photo of our Chardonnay field last week.   You can see the thin line of green where the new growth is emerging.  I find it astounding that another growing season is here.

The Lodi Wine & Food Festival is almost here, and I've got information to share about that.  As well, we have a concert coming up in a couple of weeks which should be a lot of fun.

Acoustic Measures
Saturday, April 8, 2017
from 1 to 4 PM

Join us for a concert of classic rock by the popular local trio, Acoustic Measures. Performing are George Alverez and Kevin Nagata on guitar, and  Carl Granato on bass . Enjoy their harmonic renditions of favorite rock hits from the 60 and 70's.

The music begins at 1:00 PM. Guests are welcomed to bring a picnic and enjoy the afternoon.  Children who enjoy music and well behaved pets are welcomed to attend. There are no reservations, but seating could fill, so plan to arrive early.

The tasting rooms opens at 11 AM.

 
Lodi Wine & Food Festival

The 2nd Annual Lodi Wine & Food Festival features wine tasting, a bounty of food from several local restaurants and caterers, wine pairing, olive oil tasting, blind tasting and live music. It is held in the Grape Pavilion on the Festival grounds, 

A special VIP Tasting, $65/person in advance, starts at 2:00 PM with only a  limited number of tickets sold.  The Grand Tasting, $50 in advance, $55 at the door runs from  3:00 to 6:00 PM.  Tickets can be purchased through this link.

Heritage Oak club members get tickets for only $45.  Call me for more information or just reply to this email.

Local birding expert, David Yee, leads our series of monthly birding tours based out of Heritage Oak. Tours last from 3 to 4 hours depending on the season and how many of our fine feathered friends are around.   

All events start and end at the parking lot at Heritage Oak, and will include walks through portions of vineyards, along the Mokelumne River bank and across riparian woodland. The instructional walks are geared toward birding enthusiasts of all levels and interested children are welcomed. Dress appropriately for the weather.
