Everyone's Invited to Help Us Welcome Our New Members - This Sunday!

This Sunday, we're welcoming and celebrating all our new members with a potluck lunch.  Tim Green will be smoking brisket - enough for 60 people. We're asking all of our longer-term members to bring their favorite side or dessert so our new members can have lunch on us!  Questions? Contact  Mother Rebecca .

See you Sunday!

The St. James Easter Bunny Needs Your Help!

We're asking all of our members to help make the Great Easter Egg Hunt of 2017 a success. Please bring one or two dozen plastic eggs stuffed with non-meltable candy - collection bins are located in the Narthex, in the Chapel, and in the Parish Hall.

The Hunt will take place on Easter Sunday after the 10:30 am service. All children under 12 are welcome.

Lent Madness 2017 ... Standings Following the Round of 32

From 32 saints, we have narrowed the field to 16. We now begin the "Saintly 16" in which Forward Movement, rather than the basic biographical information, will begin to share favorite Quirks and Quotes from the remaining saints. The Celebrity Bloggers will provide unusual information or legends surrounding their saints along with quotes either by or about their saints.

Each day, simply Vote Here for Your Favorite Saint. You can check standings on the Lent Madness Online Bracket Page

"But who's winning?" you ask. We are all winners as we learn about the saints of God. For those who must know, here are the standings to date:

Lisa Wilson - 12  points
The Stansels - 11 points
August Claybrook - 10 points
Mary Ann Johnson - 8 points
Scott Tankersley - 7 points
Owen Tankersley - 6 points
John Thompson - 6 points
Susan Whitaker - 6 points
Mother Rebecca - 5 points

If you think you're playing along and aren't listed here, it's because you didn't turn in your completed bracket. For referee calls on such issues, contact  Mother Rebecca.

"How To Become A Saint" Continues This Week

Join  Mother Rebecca  and  Deacon Roger  Sunday morning in the Chapel from 9:05-9:45 a.m.

Sermon & Education Recordings

Our sermons and adult education classes are recorded and made available online! This is a wonderful way to stay in touch if you are traveling or have to be away on a Sunday
morning.

Please also consider sharing sermons or classes that are particularly useful to you with friends and family who might not attend St. James (or any other church). We hope these resources might draw others into fellowship with us at St. James.

For sermons, visit the Sermons page on our website. For adult education classes, check out our SoundCloud stream.

Do You Have A Prayer Request?

Prayer requests
St. James is a community characterized by prayer. Please share your prayer concerns with us: it is our joy to lift up your prayer concerns to the Lord just as we lift up our own. We welcome you to bring these concerns to our clergy or the church office or you can share them with us on a prayer request form (located in the entry to the Church) or through our website under the heading "Connect."

James 5:13-14 Are any among you suffering? You should pray... Are any among you sick? You should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.
