The below information will provide you details and registration information regarding this year's summer school offerings. Registration will be online only, and the  deadline to enroll will be May 5.

Keep in mind, students will be enrolled in the grade level they will attend for the 2017-2018 school year (EX: current 5th graders will enroll at RMS as 6th graders, current 8th graders will enroll at RHS as 9th graders). This means that incoming kindergarten students are eligible to enroll as well!

Breakfast and lunch will be provided FREE of charge for all children 18 and under. Transportation will not be provided by the district.  However, a shuttle bus between RHS and RMS will be provided. Details can be found below.

Summer school will take place Monday through Friday using the below schedule:
Elementary: May 30-June 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Kindergarten pick-up at 2:40 p.m.)

RHS and RMS: May 30-June 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Elementary Summer School
The elementary summer school program, SLAM 2017 (Summer Learning And More) is going to center around service learning. We are also very excited about offering Spanish as a specials class for all of our SLAM students! Current assistant principal at Price Elementary, Erin Wayt will be the Elementary Summer School Principal, and Mrs. Leanne Gove (5th grade teacher at Price) will serve as Lead Teacher to assist Mrs. Wayt. We are looking forward to a summer full of leadership development and learning from leaders in our community!

Summer school for elementary students will begin on May 30th and end on June 23rd. School is in session each day, Monday through Friday. Summer SLAM time is 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  However, to ensure a smooth pick-up process, we are asking that adults picking up Kindergarten students arrive at 2:40 p.m., park and come in the building to pick up their Kindergarten student and any siblings.

SLAM will be available for students entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2017 through current 4th graders. Current 5th graders will attend summer school at Republic Middle School. For Summer SLAM, all students will be enrolled in the grade level they will attend for the 2016-2017 school year. Students who will be attending Kindergarten in the fall will need to have all kindergarten immunizations completed prior to attending summer school. If the student attending is out of district, an immunization record will need to be submitted prior to the first day of summer school.

Just as last year, SLAM 2017 will be housed in two buildings. Since no transportation is provided during summer school, this will help us ensure a smooth traffic flow process for our community. Sweeny and Price will be the two sites used. Sweeny will house all students who regularly attend Sweeny and Lyon, while Price will house all students who regularly attend Price, Schofield, and McCulloch.

Before and after summer school care is available at both buildings through the STRIPES 360 Summer Safari program. Students attending SLAM that need childcare between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. can be enrolled. Follow this link to learn more, and to enroll in the Summer Safari program: http://www.republicschools.org/Page/1146.

As in past years, both breakfast and lunch will be provided for ALL students FREE of charge!  Be sure to arrive in plenty of time to eat. Our doors will open at 7:40 a.m. each morning.

Summer school's open house will be May 25th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This time will be provided to allow you to come to your assigned location (Sweeny or Price), locate your room, pick up a supply list and meet a grade-level teacher. We'll also share our transportation drop-off/pick-up expectations at that time.

Your child must be enrolled for SLAM 2017 by Friday, May 5th.  Click HERE to enroll!

If you have more than one student attending summer school, please fill out a form for each student. We are looking forward to a great summer full of learning and serving!
