Dear St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School Families,

Facilities Master Plan Stakeholder Survey Results

On behalf of our students, I want to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to all of you who completed our 3 question Facilities Master Plan Stakeholder Survey.  We had an 89% response rate, which is our highest response rate to date. Your input is critical to help us develop and prioritize a long-range Facilities Master Plan to meet the needs of current and future students.

In summary, 75% of our survey respondents ranked "Building a Multi-Use Events Center/Auditorium" as our primary facility need (this would include a basketball/volleyball court and a performing arts stage). Building additional classrooms, expanding our Pre-School/Pre-Kindergarten and expanding our administrative offices were rated very closely as priorities 2 through 4.  To review the entire Survey Report please click on the following link .  The link includes complete information on (1) the results of our Survey, (2) what we are doing with the Survey information, (3) how we will assess our ability to pay for this project and (4) our Anticipated Target Dates

Thank you, again, for your faithful partnership and support for St. Francis of Assisi School and for your participation in our children's future.  I look forward to keeping you informed of our progress.

Principal

Teacher Appreciation Week 2017
Plans for Teacher Appreciation Week 2017 are underway! This special week takes place May 15-19 at SFA this year. We expect the week to be a memorable one for our teachers and staff. In order to make it happen we rely on our annual collection of a voluntary $10 donation per child to cover expenses for the week.

The week's expenses include: decorations, meals, the Appreciation Luncheon and the purchase of a special gift for all teachers, staff and administration. A copy of the attached form is going home in this week's Thursday folder. Please complete it and return it with your donation by  Wednesday, April 12.  You may send in cash or check (payable to St. Francis of Assisi School). If you have more than one child at the school, you may write one check per family. Please include your children's names and classes on the form.

If this is your first Teacher Appreciation Week at St. Francis, it is a wonderful week where we shower our teachers, staff and administration with food, flowers and love. Each class has a representative to oversee your classroom volunteers and activities for the week. Parent participation is encouraged as more hands make light work. It's the best way to earn service hours for the coming school year! Any questions regarding TAW can be directed to Tracy Foye.

Carline Crew

Karen Carlos has been the head of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School Carline Crew for nearly 15 years now.  With the graduation of her youngest son, Christopher, in June, Karen will be retiring her parking lot wave.  We will need a new Chairperson to fill her shoes for the 2017-2018 school year (and beyond). Ideally this new Chair would have the opportunity to shadow Karen as she carries out her role for the remainder of the school year.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Attention all 7th Grade Boys!
Servite Pre High School Placement Test
The "Pre-HSPT" is designed to benefit 7th grade students by allowing them to practice a scaled version of the Entrance Exam prior to the official admissions process in January, 2018. It is especially valuable in identifying areas that may need some work. Depending on results and interest, Servite may follow-up the Pre-HSPT with enrichment offerings during the summer in order to assist students in preparing for the rigors of high school coursework.

We will be administering Scholastic Testing Service's PHSPT on  Saturday, April 29, from 8:00 am. - 12:00 pm and results will be distributed and explained at our HSPT Information Night on  Tuesday, May 16, at 7:00 pm in the Servite Theater.

A fee of $25 covers the cost of test administration, scoring, and a snack on the day of the exam.   Click HERE to register.   (Please note that results are not used for admissions purposes for the 2018-2019 school year.)
