Common Table: 
"The Art of Community" 
Saturday, September 28th

A long table will stretch down the  
middle of the closed-off 500 block of State Street (between Cota and Hale y). Peop le of all ages from across the community are invited to bring their ow n food and beverages (non-alcoholic) to the table, and engage in conversation and fellowship.
 
 
 
What makes this particular Common Table event unique is the inclusion of live music, dance, and poetry from a diversity of artists in our community -- thus "The Art of Community."

A Fall of International Acoustic Music
SB Acoustic presents a series of live international acoustic music concerts and guitar workshops, continuing through December 14, 2019.  
 
October appearances include: Jim Messina (Oct 1st at Lobero Theatre), Leo Kottke (Oct 8th at Lobero), Ken Emerson & Kimo West (Oct 14th at SOhO), Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan (Oct 26th at Lobero).

Meet artist Jennifer LaPierre at Celadon House.

provides an opportunity to indulge in local culture and participate in the arts community. Look for theater, music, dance, lectures, readings and more, as well as local up-and-coming artists and performers. 
 
The program offers visitors the chance to experience, in one evening, the diversity of Downtown Santa Barbara's visual and performing arts scene, and is aimed at developing a lively atmosphere downtown as well as showcasing the cultural variety that Santa Barbara has to offer.
 
The 1st Thursday Passport is a printed guide to all of the 1st Thursday attractions, available at participating galleries and venues, MTD shuttles, the Visitors Center and hotel concierge desks.

ART Santa Barbara 
Immerse Yourself in a Celebration of Art
(Saturday, October 12, 2019) 
 
ART Santa Barbara is a newly created festival of fine art designed as a self-guided walking tour of the Santa Barbara Art District. More than 15 galleries are participating, featuring live painting, live music, live artist talks and of course, original artwork. 
Santa Barbara Art District
galleries exhibit the works of Santa Barbara and regional artists as well as internationally known, collectible works. More than 100 artists will be represented.

Friday, October 11th (5-8pm): Kick-off Reception at State Gallery (1219 State, $10 at the door)
Saturday, October 12th (11am-6pm): Walking tour of galleries in Downtown Santa Barbara's Art District (free)

Opera SB hosts its first Free Open Rehearsal for 
Madama Butterfly at the Santa Barbara Courthouse's Sunken Gardens, just days before the classic opera's opening date. This event is FREE and open to the Santa Barbara community.

Featuring the OSB Orchestra, the singers of Madama Butterfly, and the artistic team of Opera SB, this open rehearsal gives insight on how it all comes together before the big show. Bring down the
kids , the pups, or

I t's a spookiest tradition on State Street! Bring your costumed kids to Downtown SB for treats from participating businesses on State, Anacapa, Chapala and side streets. Your Super Heroes, athletes or Elsa's must have their own goody bag.

67th Annual Downtown Santa Barbara Holiday Parade

More than 65,000 spectators will line State Street in anticipation of Santa Barbara's only nighttime parade, the 67th Annual Downtown Santa Barbara Holiday Parade, Presented by Consumer Fire Products Inc! Officially kicking off the holiday season, this signature Downtown Santa Barbara event brings a colossal contingent of high-stepping marching bands, fabulous holiday-themed floats, spectacular performance groups, local personalities, and our soon-to-be-announced Grand Marshal! The Holiday Prince and Fairy, selected from winning artwork best capturing the parade theme, will lead the parade and light up the community Christmas tree on their way down the parade route.

Enter for a chance to be the 2019 Holiday Prince or Fairy! If chosen, you'll lead the 67th Annual Downtown Santa Barbara Holiday Parade, Presented by Consumer Fire Products Inc. (December 6th), in a special vehicle, dressed in festive attire compliments of Nordstrom, and have the honor of lighting the Christmas Tree!! Winning artwork will be professionally framed. Four runners-up (with their parent or guardian) will carry the official parade banner or ride with Santa Claus.
