The Gordon Rosenmeier Center for State and Local Government presents "Help Wanted: Brainerd Lakes" 7 to 9 pm, Thursday, April 13 at the Chalberg Theater at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.

Area unemployment is over 6 percent, yet help wanted signs hang in many doors. One local major manufacturer says they could hire 25 people on any given day with the workload they are experiencing.

There are over 2,000 unfilled jobs within 60 miles of Brainerd. Lack of workers and qualified workers is a major issue for employers in our area and statewide. Demographers tell us it's only going to get worse. Why? What can we do? What are the facts?

Be part of the discussion!
