Sweet. Stone fruits. Roasted hazelnut.

One of our relationship coffees purchased
after Jim's 2012 trip to Chiapas.  From the
FIECH co-operative, a second-level co-op of 15 co-ops representing around 25,000 farmers.  FIECH has been selling organic and Fair Trade coffee since 1996.

About the photo-
Jim got this picture of a candy seller on a Sunday in San Cristobal de las Casas, a colonial Mexican town in the heart of Chiapas.

Dark roast, full body, complex dark fruits.

Deep South is an American interpretation of French roast.  Big and dark, with depth and nuance unusual in a deep roasted bean.  It's the perfect coffee for a cafe au lait, makes a great espresso, and is fabulous hot or iced.

About the photo- This image was shot by Louisiana photographer Gail Dixon on Lake Martin, Louisiana.  Gail submitted it in response to our request for photos - to us, this photo just evokes the Deep South.

Happy Thursday and Happy Spring!

Now that Jim is back from Kenya, we are going to check our inventory and place a coffee order within the next several days.  As the weeks go on, you might notice a slight change in our inventory.  We are going to cut back on some of the unpopular coffees.  Also, within the next several months, we will be launching a new website.  It will be more up to date with less glitches.  So stay tuned for upcoming improvements!

Have a wonderful week!
Debbie and Jim
