Trust in God
Let nothing disturb you,
let nothing frighten you;
All things pass:
God never changes.
Patience achieves
all it strives for.
He who has God
finds he lacks nothing,
God alone suffices.
~Teresa of Avila, 1515-82 (her bookmark)
Prayer Request:
Please continue to keep the Rev. Sylvia Barrett and the congregation of Milford UMC and the Rev. George Richards and the congregation of Fonda-Fultonville UMC in your prayers as they recover from fires.

Please continue to keep Mary Ann, Lyle Linder and their family in your prayers. Mary Ann has been back at the Fox Nursing Home in room 122 for a week or so.  She is continuing to improve slowly. Your visits, prayers and cards are very much appreciated.
Milford UM Recovery from Fire
The Milford congregation has a temporary home in the local Cultural Center, which used to be the Milford Presbyterian Church..
If anyone has any NIV Children's Bibles (10 in total) for them to borrow until they are in a position to buy more, that would be most appreciated. Another temporary need is for music stands (2) and art supplies.
The local Food Pantry is being moved to the American Legion building in Milford.. They have e had generous donations of money, and food, to help restock their shelves. They also ran a free Clothing Closet, available to all. If there is anyone with any garment racks (4), that they could borrow on a temporary basis, the local Scouts are starting to collect clothing to restock this.
Sylvia invites local congregations to come visit them, worship and sing and pray with them. Sylvia will be sending out weekly updates with more opportunities to be part of their recovery.
If you would like to help in this recovery please be in touch with Pastor Sylvia Barrett at email: blueberryhillquilts@gmail for now.

Do not leave out the boys in your church from the very little on up.
The Oneonta District has been doing this annual lenten breakfast for over 50 years now. We have benefited from these breakfasts by meeting men from other churches and enjoying the fellowship and friendships we have had for many years. The Binghamton District was added as a result of Greene being switched over in 2010.
If your church would like to host this event next year or in future years, bring that invitation along. We try to alternate districts with Binghamton hosting this year.
We look forward to seeing all men and boys at the Endwell United Methodist Church. It is located on Watson Boulevard just west of Hooper Road. Exit 69 off Route 17 or I86 westbound or Exit 67 eastbound from Owego.
To get a poster to put up in your church go to www.unyumm.org and click on events.

Attention Licensed Local Pastors and Mentors:
The Board of Ordained Ministry Course of Study Registrar has let us know that there is inaccuracy with some LLPs as they register for Course of Study. Please follow this procedure to avoid late registration fees and missing out on enrollment.
    1.    All LLPs or ministry candidates must be approved by their District's Committee on Ordained Ministry to enroll in COS. One cannot just decide to sign up for COS.

    2.    Please use the correct year's registration forms. Registration forms from previous years are not acceptable. Using old forms may cause delay and incur late fees. Using the wrong year's form doesn't excuse the applicant from paying a late fee.

    3.    Send the payment with the registration form.

    4.    COS registration must be filled in completely and have the District Superintendent's signature.

    5.    From that point, the student or DS office must mail the payment and signed registration form to the BOM COS Registrar for her to track and sign. Please include a stamped envelope addressed to your particular COS site. The address for the stamped envelope is on the application.
Here is the mailing info for the application signed by DS, check and stamped envelope:

Spirit Filled Seminar, March 31 & April 1 - All Are Welcome
What will Happen?
"Lord, Teach Us to Pray" is a weekend seminar designed to encourage God's people to become people of prayer.  The seminar challenges and encourages individuals to take another step toward maturity in prayer.  Thankfully, the Lord is continually offering us the promise of a closer walk with Him. The schedule begins on Friday evening with teaching and testimony, and a small group experience, designed to challenge participants to think of prayer as a journey.

Saturday morning, the curriculum centers on "Lessons from the Prayer Life of Jesus." Saturday afternoon, after lunch,  is devoted to "Tools for Personal Prayer." The seminar closes  with a commissioning of participants.

A Discount on TurboTax
GCFA is happy to announce our continuing relationship with Intuit for 2017. Intuit, the company that brings you TurboTax, is offering United Methodists discounts on its popular tax preparation software.

When a member visits  http://turbotax.intuit.com/affiliate/gcfa     they can choose the package that best suits their needs. This is a convenient way for members to save on the cost of tax preparation. In addition, Intuit will donate a portion of the total spend from United Methodists purchasing TurboTax to the Church's global sustainability initiatives.

This offer does not supersede anyone's need to consult professionals about their tax liability. But it is a way for most people who prepare their own taxes to take advantage of a cost savings

NOTICE
There will be no gatherings for Pre- Conference briefings this year.  It will be done by video and posted on the UNYAC website in April.
