Farmers Market Saturday
Winter. Surely you remember winter -- the season of black ice, swollen PECO bills, frosty windshields, the flu, deadly falling icicles, and seasonal depression, dontcha? While not officially starting until next week's solstice, the meteorological winter appears to finally be arriving just in time for the first Winter Market of the year, with temps likely to remain in the 30s for the entire two hours (yep, just 9 am to 11 am) of the December 19 market. Winter markets are quick and quirky affairs, with many vendors selling directly from their vehicles, but are a great way to get out, catch up with market friends, and stock up for whatever holiday celebrations are on your calendar.

Here's who we know will be there Saturday: In addition to these oh-so-giftable calendars, Amazing Acres Goat Dairy will be there with their fresh and bloomy rind goat cheeses; Green Zebra Farm will have greens, lettuce, sweet potatoes, onions, broccoli, and delicious tomato sauce; while Livengood Family Farm provides the protein with their organic eggs and meats. Lansdowne's own Bonnie's Wondergardens will be on hand with her unique holiday arrangements. Creative Shepherd Farm will have cheeses, jam, coffee, cannoli, and yarn, as well as a $125 four-month winter farm basket plan (a monthly assortment of meats, beer, and special, exclusive-to-basket-subscribers cheeses from January through April). Also scheduled to join us are favorites Vera Pasta, MyHouse Cookies, and Kia's Cakes, plus new vendor Chillings and Chocolate bringing homemade chocolates from Upper Darby. Additional vendors are still being added, so stop by for the full market experience!
