Winter Markets
The first edition of the Lansdowne Farmers Market's 2015-16 Winter season is almost upon us. Winter Markets take place at the same location as always (30 N. Lansdowne Avenue) on the third Saturday of each month through April 2016, meaning we are just over a week away from the December 19 market. Please note that Winter Markets last only two hours -- from 9 am to 11 am. Mark your calendars and set those alarms -- don't be one of those folks that shows up at 11:10 with tears in your eyes. Additional Winter Markets are scheduled for January 16, February 20, March 19, and April 16 -- be sure not to miss them!

Even though its Winter, our bustling borough is still on the move. Take in some of the events listed below -- you will be glad you did.

What Do YOU Think of Lansdowne?
The staff and Board of Directors here at the LEDC are preparing our next 5-year Strategic Plan and we want to hear from YOU. What do you like about Lansdowne? What would you like to change? Please take about 2 minutes to complete our survey (LansdownesFuture.org/survey). This is your big chance to give us your ideas, especially for the downtown. Do you have an idea for an event? A festival? A store you'd like to see here? Let us hear your two cents by December 31st.

What a Weekend!
More than 1,000 folks came to Lansdowne to join in one (or all) of our post-Thanksgiving, way-better-than-Black-Friday-at-the-mall events. At the Twentieth Century Club on Friday and Saturday, more than 30 artists sold their wares at A Bit of the Arts. There was photography, metalworks, ceramics, jewelry, musicians, great food, and much more. On Saturday, area restaurants had breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials, Kia's Cakes had special hot drinks and espressos for $1 at their winter location at The Icery, and hundreds of folks came out for the pop-up holiday gift market in the former Thrift Store on Lansdowne Avenue. To top it off, the LBPA's tree-lighting was a big hit with kids and adults alike (the visit from Santa certainly didn't hurt!). There were dancers, music, and some folks even dressed in period garb.

Many thanks to all of the businesses and individuals who made donations to the LEDC for the holiday lights you now see lighting the way along Lansdowne Avenue during this holiday season. Special thanks to Mayor Tony Campuzano and the Borough of Lansdowne for all of their support and assistance. And a big congrats to Angela Thompson, winner of the LEDC/American Express gift basket for her selfie scavenger hunt picture submission. Photos from all of these events can be found on our Facebook page.
