That's why we call 'em Winter Markets
First things first, there will be no complaining about the weather -- snow, sleet, rain or shine. As of now, Saturday's forecast is actually quite nice, viewed within the context of the brutal cold and occasionally icy days we've had in recent weeks. Along with our market, there's a particuarly important petition drive (more on that below) taking place across the street at the Lansdowne Theater. So no excuses -- get out and enjoy a bustling Saturday morning on Lansdowne Avenue. Here's who's coming to this Saturday's market, taking place from 9 am to 11 am in the usual market location at 30 N. Lansdowne Avenue.
- Amazing Acres Goat Dairy: Assorted delicious goat cheeses.
- Bonnies Wondergardens: Flowers (conditions permitting), pussy willow, odds and ends.
- Livengood Family Farm: Eggs, beef, pork, chicken and lamb. Special orders can be reserved by emailing [email protected].
- MyHouse Cookies: Cookies (springtime sugar cut outs!), quiche and pies. For special orders or reservations leave a message at 610-459-1869 or at www.myhousecookies.com.
- Take Me Bake Me: Four flavors of pies. Large and mini.
- Taste of Puebla: Guacamole, pico de gallo, salsa fresca, corn chips, pork and chicken tamales, and (new!) chipotle hummus.
- Creative Shepherd Farm: Tropical marmalades, salsa, roasted organic coffee, and plenty of cheese. Also, some artisan handicrafts and hopefully a few winter veggies.
- Vera Pasta: Traditional homemade fresh pasta and sauces.

Lansdowne Theater Petition Drive
If you're registered to vote in Lansdowne and want to support the ongoing restoration of the Lansdowne Theater, you're encouraged to sign a petition that would allow for a referendum to be placed on the May 19 Primary Election Ballot to would allow alcohol sales in the Lansdowne Theater. This special performing arts center license would allow for the sale of alcohol ONLY in the theater before, during and after performances. To sign, head to the theater between 9 am and 1 pm on February 21 during the petition drive. For more information visit

No Place for Hate's Black History Month Poetry Slam
No Place for Hate Lansdowne chapter hosts its monthly poetry slam on Saturday, February 21 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Art Space Lansdowne, 25 S. Lansdowne Avenue. This month features a contest, "What Does Black History Month Mean to You?" for teens ages 14-18. Awards will be given to all teens who participate and there will be a prize for the winner. Tracey Grammer at Lansdowne Folk Club
Next Thursday, the Lansdowne Folk Club continues its 2015 concert series with a performance by Tracy Grammer at the Twentieth Century Club. Doors open at 7:00 pm, show begins at 7:30 pm.
