 |
As part of the 2017 Finger Lakes Craft Beverage Conference, Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension will host two field trips on Wednesday, March 29th. People will chose between a Brewery or Cidery field trip. The field trips are open to the public.
This year's brewery field trip will visit
Bottomless Brewing
.
Bottomless will be brewing a batch of beer while we're there so participants will have the opportunity to observe and ask questions about the beer-making process.
This year's cidery field trip will visit
Cummins Nursery
and
RedByrd Orchard Cidery
.
Cummins Nursery is a small, family-run nursery based in Ithaca that has a wide variety of fruit trees available, including a large number of cider apple varieties available. At RedByrd Orchard Cidery, we'll meet with the cidermaker Eric Shatt, who also manages the Cornell Orchards, and see the cider production area. Weather permitting, we'll also get a tour of the orchard.
Participants will meet at the Waterloo Holiday Inn at 8:00 for a light continental breakfast and will leave for the field trips at 8:30. Field trips will end at about 12:00. Space is limited for the field trips, so register early.
Registration
for a field trip costs $30 and includes a continental breakfast.
