Headmaster's Update

Minnesota Independent Schools Forum (MISF) STEM Grant: Saint Agnes was recently apprised of the fact that we were awarded a $7,500.00 STEM grant from MISF to help us with our Science lab renovation this coming summer. This money will help us get our new high school Engineering class up and running as well! A special thank you to Mr. David Crompton and the Advancement office for all their work putting the grant application together. Recently, we have had some families step forward as partners in the process as well. Thank you to them, too.

Senior Toby Cossairt National Merit Finalist: We were recently informed that senior, Tobias Cossairt, was named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. That places him among the top 15,000 students in the nation and qualifies him to apply for one of the 7,500 National Merit Scholarships available at universities across the nation. Congratulations to Toby for this outstanding academic achievement!

A Message from the Superintendent
Philosophy of Education for Saint Agnes School - Second Installment

Last week I published the Prologue of the Philosophy of Education of Saint Agnes School. In the Prologue we covered the ultimate goal of education which is to bring our students to Christ through His Church especially in respect to faith, reason and virtue. The remainder of this document is then divided into the three categories of faith, reason and virtue; it concludes with a few appendices which detail the roles of students, parents and faculty, as well as, specific commitments ordered toward maintaining our mission.

Today I offer you the second installment of the Philosophy of Education which outlines how Saint Agnes guides its students to grow in their faith.   My commentary is in red.

Faith

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Rev. Mark Moriarty
