St. Petersburg's Sebastien Bourdais wins the 2017 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
The City of St. Petersburg hosted its 13th Annual Firestone Grand Prix on March 10-12. This year's race was one of the best ever thanks to a hometown victory by St. Petersburg resident Sebastien Bourdais. Bourdais placed first in the season opener of the Verizon IndyCar Series with an impressive comeback from starting the race last of 21 cars.
As part of the Grand Prix festivities, Mayor Rick Kriseman hosted approximately 150 business and community leaders for his annual Green Flag Business Brunch at the Mahaffey Theater. The event recognized individuals who made special contributions to the city over the past year, such as those who relocated their business to St. Petersburg or invested in a significant development project.
We appreciate the help of our team members in Event Recruitment & Management, Paul Stellrecht and Tony Leno, for their logistical support and making this event a success.
Next year's race will be the weekend of March 8-11, 2018.
