Ride the Tour de Cypress!
When I started riding bikes in 1974, my appetite grew. I learned that I like to eat. I keep riding bikes so that I can keep eating. Which brings me to the Tour de Cypress this weekend in Mt Vernon. They give me opportunities to eat some good food, enjoy some good company and ride in some great scenery.

The first year I got there for packet pick up, out at the local airport, I learned that they have a free barbecue dinner, honoring local first responders. They served a great dinner and had a room full of friendly people.

The morning before the ride, they serve a pancake breakfast (for a fee), but the real treat are the routes. I like the 52 mile route, which incluces some tree covered roads, very little traffic and a beautiful crossing of Lake Cypress.

After the ride, they serve a free lunch on the town square, with water, soft drinks or adult beverages. All that's left is the drive home.

I hope to see you there.
