Shelburne United Methodist Church would like to extend an invitation to everyone at Temple Sinai to join them for a time of fun and fellowship.  Everyone is invited to enjoy a bowl of soup and break bread with them on Sunday, April 2 at 5:30pm.


 

They are reaching out in love and support of the Jewish Community at Temple Sinai in a time when judgement and violence is targeting Jewish schools and centers throughout the country.


Please show your appreciation by attending.  They have requested that we provide them with the number that will be attending, so please 
email the Temple Office or RSVP on the clipboard located in the entry hall if you plan to attend.  DEADLINE TO RSVP IS THIS FRIDAY.

Starting New Book in History of the Jews Class
Wednesday Morning Adult Education

The Wednesday Morning Adult Education Class started reading a new book, The Jews of Spain: A History of the Sephardic Experience , by Jane S. Gerber, today.  This weekly group meets from 11:00am-Noon to read and discuss Jewish History books.  It is recommended that you purchase the book (click the photo), if you plan to participate in the class. The class is free open to everyone.

Passover's coming!  Planning a seder?  Join us for this Super Sunday Seder Workshop as we explore ways to make your seder fun, meaningful, and engaging for all ages. 

Guest Speaker | March 31

We welcome, Imam Islam Hassan, as our guest speaker at our Shabbat Service at 7:30pm on Friday, March 31.  Imam Hassan has lead the Islamic Society of Vermont, located in Colchester for the past 6 year.  He memorized the whole Quran, the Islamic Holy Book, by the age of 12.  He holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Islamic Studies and Shari'a.  The Imam will be speaking on the basic tenants of Islam and the opportunities to build bridges among faith communities.

Enjoy the Passover Wine Tastings?

Did you enjoy the Passover Wine Tastings that we had during Onegs the end of February and begining of March?  Would you like to have some of those wines from the Tastings to serve during your Seder?  If so, please know that these wines are available at Price Chopper or the Winooski Beverage Mart.  Please note that some may need to be pre-ordered, so plan ahead.

We extend a special thanks to Rabbi Glazier and the Temple Sinai Brotherhood for sponsoring the Tastings again this year.

Hebrew Novella Book Club

Let's meet and delve into some noteworthy Hebrew novellas (in English translation), all written between 1900 and 1980.  Join teacher Bruce Hicken and explore these great works in this new Adult Education class which meets one Wednesday a month  at 7:00pm.
