Varsity Lacrosse Defeats Nationally Ranked St. Ignatius
In a non-league game against St. Ignatius on Wednesday, April 5, the Carondelet varsity lacrosse team picked up a huge, 9-8, overtime victory over the nationally ranked Wildcats.

The victory was headlined by three goals by Sophia Panella and Giovanna Baldacci and stellar goalkeeping by Abbigale Young, who had 12 saves. Following the win, Carondelet has an overall record of 6-7 and has won their last five games.

This was a big win for the Cougars, who were defeated by St. Ignatius, 10-3, earlier this season. The Wildcats entered last week's game ranked 12th nationally, fourth in California and first in the Central Coast Section.

The Cougars will return to EBAL competition this week with a road game at Livermore on Tuesday, April 11.
Track and Field's Scott and Kern Set School Records
This past weekend at the Acradia Invitational, track and field student-athletes Mikayla Scott and Kelly Kern, once again, set school records in their events.

Mikayla Scott took home top honors in the 100m and 200m sprints, setting school records in both events along the way. In the 100m race, Mikayla became the first Carondelet sprinter to break the 12-second mark, setting a school record in the event with a time of 11.86 seconds. In the 200m race, she also finished first overall, running the race in a school-record time of 24.25.

As Mikayla was breaking the 12-second mark in the 100-meter race, freshman pole vaulter Kelly Kern was setting the school record by vaulting over 12 feet. At the Arcadia Invite, Kelly set the school record for the third time this season as she cleared 12-feet, 2-inches, becoming the first pole vaulter in school history to eclipse the 12-foot mark.
