NEWS FROM THE GW CANCER CENTERGW-News
We're pleased to announce the release of an updated social media toolkit for Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March 2017. The updated toolkit provides evidence-based messaging and best practices for increasing knowledge and awareness around colorectal cancer prevention, screening and treatment. If your organization is looking for ways to get involved in Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, but don't know where to start--this toolkit is for you! Download today

The GW Cancer Center is currently developing an online tool to assist comprehensive cancer control professionals, coalitions and communities with improving health across the cancer continuum through policy, systems and environmental (PSE) change. We hope to learn from the process your organization undertook to identify and implement PSE priorities. We invite you to share your organization's successes by highlighting a particular step of the PSE process. Access the form and submit your highlight!

Please note that if you have already submitted a highlight of your organization's work, we will be contacting you to approve your final submission shortly (you do not need to resubmit your highlight). If you have any questions about the form or submission process, please contact Liza Fues at liza_fues@gwu.edu

If you are a cancer patient navigator or nurse navigator, we want to hear from you! The GW Cancer Center is conducting a research study on culture, communication and cancer care. Your insights will help us develop a team-based interdisciplinary training to improve communication and engagement with diverse cancer patients throughout the care continuum. All survey respondents will have the opportunity to be entered in a raffle for a $100 Amazon gift card. Access the survey Please help us spread the word about this important study by sharing the link (bit.ly/PfizerPNSurveyTAP) with your clinical partners or contacts.

Vermont Department of Health Comprehensive Cancer Control Program
The Vermont Department of Health Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, in partnership with the statewide cancer coalition Vermonters Taking Action Against Cancer (VTAAC), is supporting and participating in the 3-4-50 communication campaign developed by the Vermont Department of Health. The 3-4-50 message highlights the three behaviors - physical inactivity, poor diet and tobacco use- that contribute to four diseases: cancer, heart disease and stroke, diabetes and lung disease, and claim the lives of more than 50% of Vermonters. The campaign is adapted from San Diego County's campaign, and is an example of successful collaboration between cancer and chronic disease stakeholders.
