Join us on March 22 for " Voices of Survivors,"  an evening of original student theatre based on the life stories of four Holocaust Survivors. The performance is the culmination of an eight-week collaborative project between LAMOTH and Santa Monica High School's Theatre Department, in partnership with Writer's Room Productions. Students in Santa Monica High School's acting class participated in the Museum's Voices of History Theater Workshop, learning about the Holocaust, interviewing Survivors, and working with professional writing mentors to write, direct and act in scenes inspired by Survivors' experiences during the Holocaust. 

Join us on March 26 for an opening reception for "The Inner World of Ilse Kleinman: Reflections on Oppression," featuring a presentation by the artist's son, Dennis Kleinman, and remarks by art psychotherapist Dr. Esther Dreifus-Kattan. Artist Ilse  Kleinman and her parents fled Berlin in 1933 due to growing antisemitism in Nazi Germany. The family settled in South Africa, where the rise of apartheid reminded Kleinman of the cruelty and dehumanization experienced by Jews during the Holocaust. Her art incorporates Holocaust- and apartheid-related motifs.
