Jared Rosenstein, a rising 2L part time student, was a recipient of the Florida Bar Animal Law Committee's Outstanding Service Award for a Law Student. Jared received his award at the Florida Bar annual meeting in Orlando for "further[ing] the purpose and goals of the Animal Law Committee" in both his professional and personal life.
Currently the legislative assistant for another animal advocate and NSU law graduate, Representative Moskowitz, the two have teamed up to propose many animal-protection bills. Governor Rick Scott recently signed this important law that Jared authored and shepherded through the legislative process. It provides immunity from civil liability for people who rescue a "domestic animal from a motor vehicle." In drafting the bill, Jared demonstrated the analytical and writing skills of an experienced attorney rather than a first year student.

NSU Law Incubator Program Assists Alumna in Launching Her Solo Practice
The NSU Law
Legal Incubator Program
was launched in April 2016 under the direction of Staff Attorney Jayme Cassidy. This post-graduate program enables NSU College of Law graduates to start their own solo, small firm, or non-profit practices while serving the veteran community and low and moderate income individuals. Recent graduates are carefully selected to participate in the program, and are given the infrastructure and
basic training needed to get their practices up and running, while also providing the local community legal assistance at an affordable cost.
As part of the incubator's mission to help our recent graduates gain success, we are pleased to support
Chaya Posner (2012) as she successfully completes the launch of her solo practice.
Chaya's practice will focus in the areas of: long term planning for children and adults with disabilities including education and benefits provisions, Wills, Trusts, and Probate.
Ms. Posner is accepting pro-bono cases in those areas via the NSU Law Clinical Programs legal hotline: 954-262-6492.
