Pi Day - 3.14
The Garces Key Club combined celebrating Pi Day with a fundraising opportunity for Relay for Life. Pie tins were placed in several teacher's classrooms and the teacher with the most money in the pie tin - won - a pie in the face! Students pooled their money and decided to donate more money into Ms. Church's pie tin than any other. Then Key Club auctioned off the right to "pie" Ms. Church and Lauryn Lock was the winner! It was all for a great cause and the students raised over $300 for a great cause.

Badminton Tournament Update
The Intramural Badminton Tournament is well underway and we have a few undefeated teams, but we have one undefeated team that everyone wants to beat - the team of Coach Justin Finch and Coach Caitlin Witwer. Will a student team be able to beat them or will two of our faculty members dominate? We will soon know as we move into the final brackets next week during lunch.

Admin Corner
Message from
Guy Dees
Asst. Principal of Student Affairs
Dear Parents,
Now that spring is starting to rise from the doldrums of winter and the school year begins to wind down, more and more activity in and around campus kicks into high gear. With our campus safety and security being of utmost concern and in light of recent events, I need to ask for a little help. During lunch it has become increasingly popular for food to be delivered to campus for our students. Additionally, these lunches are often being delivered to the fence by the chapel and handed over the fence. The unfortunate reality of our world insists that we must not allow students to be at a fence line receiving anything over/through the fence. It is certainly not that we believe there is anything a parent would be giving their student that is inappropriate but unfortunately it is not always parents coming to the fence. With that said, please remember that it is a school policy as stated in the handbook that "off campus lunch deliveries are prohibited." We certainly understand that special occasions happen and you may want to do something special for your student. We are more than willing to accommodate but ask that you contact us ahead of time and we will make arrangements for your student in the main office for lunch that day. I do apologize for any inconvenience but hope that you will agree with us that having our students receiving things from outside the school through the fence poses a potential security risk. If I can answer any questions please feel free to contact me. Thanks for your help.
