Notes from Ms. Dahnke

Grandparents' Day A Success!

We hope all of the grandparents enjoyed a wonderful morning here with their grandchildren. We appreciate all who attended. We also appreciate the volunteers who helped as greeters and spent time helping with the photo orders as well as helping with refreshments. Additionally, we thank all of those who helped in our Book Fair. Finally, we would like to thank Mrs. Rachel Schlie, our music teacher, for leading the students in an awesome program!

QUOTES FROM SOME OF OUR STUDENTS ABOUT THEIR GRANDPARENTS:

"My grandparents are absolutely amazing! They are indescribable! They teach me to be myself and to never be afraid to show the real me to the world. Honestly, I could call them my role models! They always listen to my problems and I know they will always be there to hear the never-ending problems. My grandparents and I have thousands of secrets that I do not tell anyone else. My grandparents always know how to brighten up my day. I love them so very much!"

"Grandparents have all sorts of jobs, and not just the ones at work. Your grandparents are your supporters. When you need inspiration, they are there for you. Your grandparents are your comforters. When you feel alone and sad, they are there for you. Your grandparents are your helpers. When you are having trouble doing something, they are there for you. Your grandparents are very important. I love my grandparents, and I know they love me."

"My Papa tells great stories. He tells me a lot of stories from the past. He also has a great sense of humor. When I am sick, he asks about me a lot. My grandparents travel to different places around the world. They bring back really cool souvenirs."

"My grandma has a huge wardrobe. I think she has a different outfit for every day of the year! She also has a lot of house decorations. Their house is very pretty."

"My grandpa loves horses. I call him Papaw. He lets me ride his horses."

"My grandma is an awesome cook. I think she should have her own bakery. I love cooking with my grandma."

"I love my Gram. She used to be a nurse. Whenever I get hurt, she uses her knowledge to help me. I love all of my grandparents!
My grandparents are nice! They take care of me and my siblings. They make us food and other sweet stuff. My grandparents do fun things with me. My Papaw plays basketball with me. They take me fun places too."

"My grandma has made me realize that I can do anything I want with what I have. She said that I am talented and can do many things. She said that I am just like her when she was my age. My grandmother tells me all the time that she is very proud of me."

"My grandparents tell me they love me and they give me hugs and kisses and money at Christmas!"

"I have the most beautiful grandmother ever and the best grandfather anybody could ask for. If I didn't have their support and all the things they do for me, I would not be who I am. They encourage me and make me a happy person. They mean the world to me and nobody will ever be able to change that."

"I know that I am so loved by my Grams and Pop. I know they would do anything in this world for me. "

"My grandma is special because she takes us to church and she buys me stuff that my mom would say I don't need."

"My grandmother helps me with my homework. She also teaches me about manners. She also takes me on vacations."

"My Mimi teaches me how to work in the garden and my Papa taught me how to whistle. They are so smart and I love them so much."

"My grandparents are always there for me since the day I was born and now and forever they will always be in my heart. When I go to their house they always take me fun places. They will always love me and I will always love them."
Spring Break
BCA will be closed Mar. 20 - 24 for Spring Break. CCC and BCA Day Care will be open the entire week of March 20. You may reach BCA Day Care and CCC by calling 423-987-8774.

Volunteer Hours
Each family is required to volunteer for 6 hours a year whether the family has a child in the CCC or a student at BCA. The deadline for these hours is coming upon us quickly. March 31 is the deadline but there is plenty of opportunity to get those done by then. Please continue to talk with your student's classroom teacher or read the weekly newsletter for suggestions and areas of need. If you have fulfilled your hours, please make sure to get a volunteer form from your student's classroom and hand it in so you can be credited. Many hands make light work and we appreciate all you do for BCA/CCC.

Chapel
Everyone is welcome to join us for our Chapel Service on Wed., Mar. 29, in the BCA gym.  Pastor Pingel from First Lutheran Church will be leading this service. Also, at this chapel service those students with 3rd Quarter Perfect Attendance, Perfect Church Attendance, Perfect Sunday School, Honor Roll and Principal's Honor Roll names will be announced.  Thank you for a total $568.36 for Heifer International from our 2nd quarter chapel offerings.

Our fourth quarter chapel offerings will go to Bridge City Community.  Bridge City, an outreach of First Lutheran Church, continues the legacy of bringing the Gospel to people in need.  Pastor Josh Woodrow is the Pastor of Bridge City.
