A home-school graduate, Katie Davis was raised in Lawrenceville, Virginia.  After completing high school one year early, she attended Southside Virginia Community College and earned her Associate of Applied Science in Business Management.

After graduating from SVCC, Katie opened a music studio, giving lessons to children ages 4-18. She is currently a preschool teacher at First Christian School in South Hill, as well as a voice instructor at Dance It Out.  Katie also enjoys performing with Homegrown Bluegrass as a vocalist and upright bassist.

Katie's future plans include earning a degree in music therapy, pursuing her music career, and continuing to work in the early childhood field.

"If I could offer any advice to future graduates of SVCC, it would be to pursue the basics that you need for your career but never be afraid to make changes! I changed my degree three times, and only now am finally figuring out who I am and God's amazing plan for my life...I am so thankful for my time at SVCC, and for those who helped guide me in the right direction."
