Yesterday kicked off Wright State's Campus Scholarship & Innovation Campaign (CSIC) and in recognition of our 50th anniversary, this year's CSIC theme is 50 Years: See the Change. Be the Impact. The student featured at this year's kick-off is one of our own - Tyree Franklin, a junior theatre major from Cleveland who is grateful for the amazing relationships he has formed with faculty and staff in the program.  Receiving scholarship support means he doesn't have to stress over carrying a full-time job, and he can take advantages of opportunities to grow in his craft, like when he interned for Wicked at the Schuster Center. Tyree shared that Wright State feels like a home away from home, and I know many of our students feel that way because of how much you support them every day - through mentoring, teaching, advising, guiding, and giving.  CSIC will run through April 28 and the goal is to reach 50% participation from full-time faculty and staff and to raise $450,000.  CSIC gifts directly benefits students through scholarships and programs, and what's great about this campaign is that with over 1,900 scholarships and programs, you can support what you are most passionate about.  Please consider giving this year!  Make your gift online at wright.edu/csic .  Thank you to Dawn Banker who is serving as our CoLA Unit Chair this year; please contact her with any questions.

Last week's tours of CAC for Staff Development Day were a huge success.  Over 50 people signed up to learn more about the Creative Arts Center Modernization and Expansion and participate in an informative behind-the-scenes tour of the building.  Thank you to Linda Caron, Jennie Buckwalter, and Jen Foster for leading these tours.  

 

Please encourage your students to attend CLASS' Career Fair Prep workshop this coming Tuesday, March 14, at noon in 106 Millett.  This liberal arts focused session will make sure our students are well prepared for the Wright State Career Fair that will be taking place on Wednesday, March 15 in the Student Union from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Thank you to Wayne Stark and Alex Taylor for helping our students put their best foot forward with potential employers! 

 

This week's Dean's Leadership Advisory Board featured member is Emma Mattingly.  Emma is a sophomore majoring in Urban Affairs with a concentration in planning. She is also pursuing a minor in Spanish and a Geographic Information Science certificate. Emma serves as the CoLA Senator for the Student Government Association and is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She interns under the Marketing Director at the Dayton International Airport and loves to travel, read, play volleyball, and spend time outdoors. After completing her undergraduate degree, Emma hopes to attend graduate school to study Sustainable Urban Development.
