A Word From The Board- Rob Mondi

Leads Leads Leads - In the days of social media and all the other wonders the internet holds for us, one thing is still constant - Leads. Leads are the very lifeblood of every business's sales force. How do we get them? How do we qualify them? How do we close them and continue the cycle? Well, no matter how much technology changes the game, Leads are still a crucial part of our success as sales people growing our business. St. Charles Chamber of Commerce has three different leads groups that can help you grow your business while you can help your customers with introductions to non competing products and businesses. Currently, there are two Friday LEAD$ groups and one on Wednesdays, with openings in all. One Friday group meets every other Friday at 7:45am at the Courtyard Hotel by Marriott in St. Charles and the other meets every Friday at 8:30am at the Chamber Office. The Wednesday group meets the 1
st
and 3
rd
Wednesday of each month at 8:15am at the Chamber Office. Each group is limited to 25 members and no business is allowed to have more than one representative, so there is room for everyone. There is also the ability to create additional groups should the demand and interest be there. There is a nominal annual fee of $40 that is adjusted depending on which calendar quarter you join. There are educational components to each meeting as well as opportunities to share what you do as well. For more information, contact the Chamber staff liaison at 630-584-8384 and at a very minimum attend a meeting and see what it's all about.

25 MPH Speed Limit Zone Expanded on Main Street
Lower Speed Limit Stretches from 7th Avenue to 7th Street
Due to the efforts of the St. Charles Police Department, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has reduced the speed limit on Main Street/IL Rt. 64 to 25 MPH between 7th Street & 7th Avenue. This expands the previous 25 MPH zone between 4th Street & 4th Avenue. IDOT has installed new speed limit signs. IDOT's involvement is required because Main Street/Rt. 64 is a state highway.
Police are looking to calm traffic as it travels through the heart of our downtown, enhancing safety of both pedestrians and motorists. The City encourages all motorists to Slow Down, Downtown. "I am glad staff was able to work with IDOT to get the lower speed zone expanded on Main Street," said Mayor Ray Rogina. "It's important for people to feel safe as they walk or drive through our city and that traffic conditions are conducive to visiting our businesses.
The Police Department also petitioned IDOT and received electronic radar display signs on Rt. 31. For more information, contact Commander Gatlin at 630.377.4435
