ON TO AFRICA!     - Gary Holloway

By now I hope you have read accounts of our marvelous Global Gathering in Damoh, India. At that Gathering, the board of the World Convention with members from eleven countries met. God worked powerfully in that meeting, opening new pathways and possibilities for the ministries of World Convention. The board accepted an invitation to hold our next Global Gathering in Manzini, Swaziland, April 18-21, 2019. More details on that meeting will be forthcoming.

Paul Chimhungwe
T The World Convention board also elected Paul Chimhungwe as its new President. Paul is from Zimbabwe, but teaches at African Christian College in Swaziland.

This will be our first Global Gathering in Africa, which numerically is becoming the new center of Christianity. All Christian groups, including our Stone-Campbell churches, are growing rapidly in Africa. Churches of Christ have been in Swaziland for over fifty years. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) have partnerships with the Council of Swaziland Churches and with the Kukhany'Okusha Zion Church. Leaders from all the streams of our churches in southern Africa will be involved in planning the Gathering.

Welcome to Swaziland!
The purpose of our Gathering is to share fellowship  with Christians from throughout the world. However, there will be opportu nities to experience the culture of Swaziland. Swaziland is a safe and bea utiful country, known as the Switzerland of Africa, with an impressive lan
dscape of rolling hills and valleys. You will be overwhelmed by the friendliness of the Swazi people. For more, see the video      The Kingdom of Swaziland.

So, make your plans to join those from around the globe in Swaziland in 2019.

God is at work!

March 8 was just one day to celebrate International Women's Day.

Members and friends of
Global Women Connecting know that the contributions women make happen all year long! We encourage you to discover regular ways to renew yourself and the women in your life.

Here are a few ideas to try-

Reach out to refugee women      Assist a homeless woman
Spend time with your mother, grandmother, daughters, aunts
Take time to reflect, journal, dance, sing, or other self-care rituals
Offer a smile, fresh flower or a hug to every woman you see in one day
Write a letter/postcard or call a woman in your life sharing what you admire about them

Donate resources to a women-focused organization
Get a massage or healing treatment, go to the spa
Get together with a friend or friends
Remind others of LOVE

Global Women Connecting join together in prayer.

Beginning in April you are encouraged to pray a monthly scripture, then note a few of the words or images that come to mind each day. (A click on the image to the right will give you a downloadable pdf to print and use to record your thoughts.)

Perhaps you will want to use the tradition of lectio divina by reading aloud the scripture three times, taking note of the word or phrase that seems to stand out. Then, stop and stay with the word or phrase when that happens and see where your heart goes.

Blessings to you.
