Snow Days
With this week's snowfall, many are asking about how it will affect our school calendar for the remainder of the school year.  F our snow days were built into the school calendar for 2016-17, so we will not need to make-up any of the days we have used thus far.

Please Mark Checks Clearly
As you know, the main office is the primary location for payments to be accepted for virtually everything at York Catholic.  With that in mind, please clearly label the envelope or the memo line of your check with your child's name and what the payment is to cover. This will help to assure your payment is properly processed.
Parking at the Ice Rink
We are happy to have an arrangement with the York City Ice Rink to allow our students to use their parking lot during the day.

Students are reminded to park only on the rear side of the parking lot's island.  Cars parked on the side of the island closest to Vander Avenue will be towed.
Mission Collection:  Child Sponsorship Program
Tomorrow's Mission Collection will support the Child Sponsorship Program to provide children in the city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic with food, medical care, educational supplies, and items for better hygiene.
"Night at the Races"
York Catholic's Athletic Association will host "Night at the Races" on Saturday, March 25, in the YC cafeteria. Doors open at 6 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM, and races beginning at 7 PM.

For $25 per person, you get a full meal and beverages. There will be a silent auction and small games of chance available during the event. The Horse Racing portion of the night is a live simulcast of races that you can bet on throughout the night. The earnings are split 50/50 with YC.  Yes, you can take home some of the earnings!

Bring a Friend to School Day
YC is holding Bring a Friend to School Day on Monday, March 27.  Current students can encourage an interested friend (from dance class, scouts, a sports team, your neighbor or cousin, etc.) to spend the day at YC as a shadow student.  Instead of shadowing with one of our Ambassadors, they can shadow with their friend.  Please have the friend's parent contact Ms. Heather Hoffman at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x220 by Monday, March 20, to set up a visit day and to receive a permission slip.  Only students with a real interest in possibly attending YC will be scheduled for this date.
7th Grade Retreat & Hosts Needed
The 7th grade class will be enjoying a Retreat Day on Thursday, March 23, from 8:30 AM-3 PM at Holy Infant Parish in Manchester, PA.  Our day will be led by the NET Ministries Team #8 and our theme will be "Fully Alive (True Happiness)."

Only God is big enough to fill us.  The pursuit of happiness motivates every decision we make.  Why is it, then, that we find ourselves unhappy so often? This theme explores our search for true happiness, highlighting the one thing that is big enough to fill our deepest desires - God himself.

We will need 6 host families to house and feed same-gender pairs of the NET Team for two nights on Wednesday, March 22 and Thursday, March 23. It is a wonderful chance to get to know some faithful young Catholics on their year of service to the Church and it's Youth! For more information on hosting, please contact Mrs. Krueger at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x236.
Junior High One-Act Play
This year's Junior High One Act Play is entitled, "The Doctor Is In."  Slade, new to the hospital cleaning staff, accidently gets mistaken for a doctor. The nurse who makes this error thinks that Slade's bumbling is nothing more than good spirited professional humor and even calls in student nurses to observe his medical prowess.  The play is being performed Friday, March 24, from 7-7:30 PM in the auditorium.
Projected Senior Schedule
The senior class schedule for May 2017 is listed below.  Attendance is mandatory at all events with the exception of the Senior Picnic.  Students wishing to attend the Senior Picnic must register in advance (details coming later) and be academically eligible. Inclement Weather
During inclement weather that would cause a school closing or delay of schedule, York Catholic will call/text/email you through our One Call Now Emergency Notification system.  Other modes of notification include WSBA 910-AM, WGAL TV-8, and the YC website.  Students from individual school districts are automatically excused if their district closes and does not provide transportation to YCHS.  The exceptions to this are Southern and Southeastern.  These students follow York Catholic's delay and closing schedule.
