BUILD BRIDGES OF UNDERSTANDING
40 Under Forty Georgia Muslims Honored at the State Capitol!

On March 13th, the ISB recognized 40 Under Forty members for their achievements at the prestigious "Honoring 40 Under Forty Georgia Muslims at the State Capitol." Honorees also took a photo with Governor Nathan Deal. The event was a joint effort by the state law-makers and Georgia Secretary of State to honor Georgia's  American Muslims and recognize some of the most prominent and innovative voices in the fields of medicine, business, law, government, politics, academic, arts, science, and more. State Senator Steve Henson honored the 40 Under Forty Georgia Muslims with an official Senate Resolution for their contribution to the welfare of the State of Georgia. On March 5, 2017 over 600 members of the Atlanta Muslim communities participated in the Atlanta Community Food Bank Hunger Walk/Run.  They raised over $20,000 to help fight hunger in Atlanta.  Over 18 organizations came together under the Islamic Speakers Bureau's umbrella to participate in this year's Hunger Walk/Run.  This is the 8th year that the Atlanta Muslim Community has participated in the walk.  From the different organizations, Gwinnett Islamic Circle had the most registrants and the ISB would like to congratulate them.  We also would like to thank all the teams and their members for participating and raising money for a very worthy cause.
