APPEALING TO A HIGHER COURT FOR JUSTICE

Many are saddened about the verdict given on Saturday regarding the death of Trayvon Martin. Based on the evidence presented, George Zimmerman was found not guilty of shooting the seventeen year old teenager who felt the need to defend himself because he was being followed, while walking to the store. And today many are not only saddened, but angry because the decision seems unjust.  All around the world, people are asking: " Where is the justice for Trayvon Martin?"

But the process for justice does not stop with the verdict given Saturday. For as our justice system allows us to appeal to a higher court when we don't agree with a decision that has been rendered by a jury, there is also a higher court we can appeal to when we believe injustice has occurred - our heavenly Father above. For the scriptures define God as a righteous judge who is always just and fair. For example, Psalms 89:14 states: "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne". Psalms 140:2 states: " I know the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy. And Psalms 7:11 states: "God is a fair judge, a God who is angered by injustice every day." (God's word translation).

So if you are discouraged today about the verdict, present your appeal to the heavenly judge above, then trust him to execute justice, in his own time and way, for the killing of Travyone Martin.

Rest in peace, Travyone.
